Thank you David for your kind words..… Distinguished guests, family and friends, After 12 years I can finally say this….My wife and I… would like to say a big thank you to everyone here today. I know that this is our special day, but it wouldn't be as special, if it wasn't for all our family and friends being here with us.… For my new father in-law it would have be considerably cheaper…….but not as special… So once again, a big thank you to you all and thank you so much for all the wonderful cards and gifts.
First of all, I would like to thank Karen's parents David and Anne for all your hard work and support for today, and for welcoming me so openly into your family. David thanks for the warning about the extreme physical violence I would receive, should I not treat Karen in the manner she deserves. Trust me when I say, that I will always love her, and protect her… I feel very proud to be able to say to you both, that I am your son-in-law and will always do my best to live up to your expectations and promise to take care of Karen ….and of course do everything she tells me to do. Now I'm not saying she's bossy. But I know my place…you've done an excellent job raising such a wonderful caring daughter, providing her with so much and love and support over the years.
I also want to say a special thank-you to my Mum and Dad. You have been there for me constantly. I am very fortunate and proud to have you as parents, and would like to thank you both for the advice you have given me, and for all the help and support for our wedding. I also want to thank you for pointing me in the right direction over the years… and for raising me the way you have. I am sure you will all agree, they have done a fantastic job.
Mum, don't worry, I will still come round to see you every Wednesday for my dinner, so nothing really changes,
Karen and I would also like to thank Leah our bridesmaid, for all your hard work. I know how much support you have given Karen, up to, and including this day. You have made all the planning and preparations a joy, and we have both loved having you on board. Can we also mention how lovely you look today… and on that note, ladies and gentlemen please be upstanding and join me in a toast to Leah. TO LEAH…
Now when Karen and I moved into our home 4 years ago, we made a new friend called Grace, and we were absolutely delighted when she agreed to be our flower girl. Thank you Grace for doing a great job today and giving us lots of smiles.
Thanks to peter and Jonathan our ushers for doing a great job today including keeping out any gate crashers at the church.
Karen and I would also like to thank reverend Small for a lovely service and all your help and time in the run up to this day… thanks also to everyone who took part in the service. We really appreciate it.
To Adrian my best man, and Richard my Groomsman, thank you for all of your help and support and also for keeping me calm and , re-assuring me that Karen would actually turn up at the church today……
That leads me on to my gorgeous new wife, Karen- I'm sure you will all agree when I say this…you look absolutely stunning today… Thank you for all your efforts, co-ordinating our big day. The way you delegated all the work to me was just fantastic! Seriously though, thank you for all the time and effort you've put in to making sure today was a major success. Your creativity, attention to detail, and preparation was outstanding and you should take all the credit for what has been an incredible day so far. I know this is the start of many more happy years together… …Tradition dictates that I now tell you an amusing story or two about Karen. However, “her indoors” as i shall now be calling her, dictates that I do no such thing…..But I will say this… will have been together for 12years, and in that time I've learned a very valuable lesson. I've learnt that Whenever Karen's right, and I'm wrong, admit it, and Whenever she's wrong and I'm right, just keep quiet…… Karen I love you for so many reasons, but mostly because you're my very best friend. You're the most caring, thoughtful and kindest person I know.… Thank you for marrying me, and making me the happiest man alive….
So Ladies and Gentlemen, please be upstanding, for the most important toast I'm ever likely to make, TO MY WIFE KAREN… To Karen
Well that's enough from me. I would like to thank you all once again, and hope you have a great evening. It now gives me great pleasure. I think. To hand over to Adrianust sending you my speech. I used your website to construct it. Thanks ever so much…
