INTRO
Thank you (father of the bride)..…
And the nominees for best guest are…
To those few Ladies and Gentlemen, Family, relatives, (new and old), in-laws and outlaws, friends, friends of friends, and freeloaders:
Before I start speaking I have something to say…
Unaccustomed as I am to public speaking, I have this irresistible urge to prove it…
FAMILY
Just once in a lifetime, you get the opportunity to say exactly how you feel to the people you really care about. I would like to take a few moments to express my feelings towards a few very special people.
I would firstly like to that (parents of the bride) for their warmth and generosity. I think we can all agree that their relationship is one to be admired. They welcomed me into their family from day one, and have fed me ever since.
I would like to thank my mum. She has been an inspiration to me for a number of years. She has proven to me that if you really do put your mind to it, you can actually accomplish anything.
Dad, well what can I say… Thanks for coming… Dad has taught me about determination and how to stand strong for my beliefs. He has shown me that love doesn't make the world go round, it's what makes the ride worthwhile…
GUESTS
Love has a magic power to make a poor man feel like a king, and I feel as though I'm on my thrown up here due to the warmth and affection you have all shown us today..
I can't imagine a happier way to start our married lives together than with all our close family and friends.
On behalf of my wife and myself, thank you all for being here today and sharing this special day with us.
Thank you for all your gifts – I can't tell you what they mean to us until I get a call from the pawn shop..
WIFE
I promised (wife) that I would keep this speech short, however I'm now married and these are probably the last words I will ever say for myself.
As many of you know I have started my training for accountancy. I may have only been training for a while but I have learned this… Marriage is like an investment that pays dividends if you pay interest.
Every groom says he feels like the luckiest man alive… Well today I do… Those of you who have had the pleasure of knowing (wife) will know how affectionate, intelligent, funny and truly enchanting she is. Sorry love – I can't read the rest of your handwriting.
I'm really looking forward to coming home every day, sit with dinner and watch her favourite programs.
BRIDESMAIDS
I would like to thank (chief bridesmaid) and our bridesmaids.. I think we can all agree that they have helped to make today that little bit more special.
BEST MAN
Those of you who have brother and sisters know we are the lucky ones… I have a brother who I can share all my experiences with, all my hopes and dreams, to stick by through think and thin. In return, he winds me up to the point of a nervous breakdown or dresses me in skin tight lycra superman costumes at my stag do.
Despite this, he is very supportive. He has become more than a brother to me, he has become a true friend that I can count on.
FINISH
Before I sit down, I ask you all to raise your glasses and join me in showing our gratitude to all those just mentioned and my best man…
To family and friends.…
