Intro…

On behalf of my wife and I – we would like to think all for coming today.

I did have a great speech worked out for today. But now I'm married Lorraine has told me what to say. Lorraine and I have been together now for nearly 6 years, and in that time I've learned a very valuable lesson:

Whenever you're Wrong – Admit it!!
Whenever you're Right – Keep Quiet!!!

That's probably good advice for most men……………

I have here, a list of thank yous, but if I do miss anyone out I am sorry. Please put it down to nerves, suffice to say that this isn't the first time today I've rose from a warm seat with a piece of paper in my hand!

Lorraine as most of you will know, is hardworking, intelligent and indeed beautiful – as you will all agree with me that she looks stunning today.

GUESTS GIFTS

Lorraine and I really appreciate the effort you have made. We're especially grateful to those of you who have traveled a long way. Some of you have come from Northern Ireland and England I'm just amazed how far people will all go for a free meal!

Huge thanks for all your cards, kind thoughts, generosity and the wonderful presents.

THANK YOU…

Lorraine and I would like to thank Lesley, Linda & Mum/Dad for helping to organize today.

I'd like to thank Lorraine's Mum – Mina for everything she has also done for us and especially for making me feel so welcome into the family for the past 6 years. Over the years Mina has given me some lovely gifts – Birthday & Christmas presents, but the gift of her daughter Lorraine is one I will cherish forever……….…

Before Lorraine and I got engaged she told me that We had to stick with tradition and therefore I had to ask her Dad – Des for her hand in marriage – what a night that was, it was a bit like this morning with the paper and the warm seat! – I was glad that Des said yes – as you all know Des died in Oct 2002. I was so honored to of known & loved him. Am sure you will all agree that he was a joy to have around.

I'd also want to say a special thank you to my Mum & Dad. (Edna & Bill) Both of you gave me the best upbringing imaginable. You both have raised a wouldaful son!
You both gave me a wonderful start in life – THANK YOU.

I would like to say a Big Thank You to the Bridesmaids – Lesley, Linda and Deborah for the wonderful job they have done today, and we could not forget about the Users – Billy and Bert for their part in today – Thanks to all of you.

I'd also like to thank Linda for making the bridesmaids dresses – which am sure you would all agree the bridesmaids and dresses look beautiful, thank you Linda you have done a wonderful job.

Can you all be upstanding – and toast to the Bridesmaids and Users.

BRIDESMAIDS & USERS.

Thank you Cont…

I'd like to thank Deborah & Michele for singing at the church, two beautiful voices.
And a thank-you to Liz for doing our wedding photos.

And my last thank you is to my Brother Simon for being my Brother, Friend and my best man.

There are a number of gifts as a token of our appreciation we want to hand out, but we'll do most of them later so not to keep you from the Dance Floor – Billy Major

However, we would like to present 2 sets of bouquets to the mums………

FAMILY & FRIENDS………..…

I trust you've noticed the cameras on your tables? – Feel free to take photos throughout the evening. It'll probably be a good idea to take them early on – as I'm sure you won't be able to focus them later as the drinks start to flow…oh David no Moonies please……..…

Over the past year or so – I have had to keep 3 secrets from Lorraine:

The colour of my Kilt
My Speech
The HONEYMOON

Well Lorraine knows the first two – the 3rd and most important one is the Honeymoon…

I told Lorraine that I will leave a clue on our table and I think Dad has the clue?

Am sure you all have guessed…

My Wife and I are going to the: Caribbean Island of – CUBA

I could stand here all night and talk about Lorraine and I, but I'll leave that up to the Best Man – Ladies & Gentlemen I give you SIMON.
