Thanks Rich for your kind words and wishes. It's going to be a hard act to follow but let's see how I go.
I will try to keep it short though I do have a quite a few people to thank tonight so please make sure that your glasses are full.
On behalf of Rebecca and myself, I would like to start off with saying a big thank you to everyone here for sharing our day with us. You all have played an important part in our lives and mean the world to us so today would not have been the same without you. A little less expensive perhaps but none the less not as special and we would not of had it any other way.
So on that note a toast: To Family and Friends and absent loved ones
Now to my lovely wife..… Wow that's going to take a little of getting used to. You look absolutely amazing, am I right? I am so happy that you agreed to marry me, especially after living with me for 4 years. I hope you read the paperwork stating there's a strict no return policy.
In all seriousness though you are such an amazingly talented individual who puts 200% into everything you do, this wedding being a monument to that. Without your planning, hard work and “expert direction” today would not have been possible. You are my best friend and the love of my life and I cannot wait to start the next chapter of our lives together.
So can I please ask you all to raise your glasses to my absolutely stunning wife: Rebecca
I personally would also like to thank Beck's parents Rich and Jo for raising such an amazing daughter. She takes after you both in the best of ways. She is one of the most, kindest and caring people I know always having time to put others needs in front of her own. Since meeting your daughter around 4 years ago.… You know right around that time when that strange man started turning up at your house I have gotten to know you both well, so much so that I can see the values you passed down daughter every day. I haven't just gained an amazing wife but also an amazing family.
So a toast: To Rich and Jo
Speaking of family I would also like to thank my parents for all the support they have given me over the years, I'm sure there were times where you were sure that I was a lost cause, but guess what you can hold your heads high while you come to terms with how you raised such a perfect individual. Throughout my childhood all the life lessons and skills you taught me, in which I didn't see it then but looking back has made me who I am today.
So a toast: To Dale and Doreen
Now onto the bridal party. To my groomsmen. You have all shared in various chapters in my life and I am sure all have very interesting stories to tell in which I am thankful were not shared tonight. Ivor and Kat, you have been my mates for years and it's been amazing journey to have been part of having you both grow up beside me. Kat you becoming a mum and well Ivor.… It's just nice to see you in something other than shorts and a tee-shirt.
Ben, what can I say thanks for all the help you gave me yesterday and last night with writing my speech. I appreciated the dedication on searching YouTube for groom speech writing tips. Especially the 10 rules for writing a groom speech where rule 1 proceeded to be “be prepared and don't write the speech the night before”. It was in that moment when you looked at me and said “you're screwed”. Well guest what I work well under pressure and got there in the end!
Lastly but certainly not least Shaq. Since starting my career you have been there for me, telling me to pull my head in and keeping me on the straight and narrow. I owe a lot my skills and knowledge to you and the rest of the family so thank you.
Don't all the bridesmaids look lovely tonight?
Lawry you scrubbed up alright too, I'm sure the facial mask last night did wonders! Thank you all for the effort that you all put into organising Beck's hens night. I know she had an amazing time based on how far she moved from the couch on Sunday. You all have been there for her over the years and I am sure will continue to offer the same love and support during the next chapter of our lives together.
Now for my final toast: To the Bridal Party
Now enough of me waffling on, I could go on all night thanking people, and I'm sure there are some I have missed however have a good evening and once again thank you all for sharing in our day.
