Thanks for those kind words Kevin,
On behalf of my WIFE and I, I would like to welcome you all to our wedding!
I would like to thank everyone for coming today, it means so much to us, to have the ones we love and care about here to share our special day.
I can honestly say it wouldn't have been the same without you all..… It would have been a hell of a lot cheaper, but that's not the point.
Firstly I just want to say how amazing Charlotte looks today, the picture of her when I turned round in church will be one that stays in my mind for a long long time.
After looking at the internet for hours I discovered that apparently its normal to give a bit of an introduction to how the bride and groom first met so here goes,
I'll never forget the first time I saw Charlotte – picture the scene if you will – We were both in a crowded bar Minding our own business Just having our own nights out.
Our eyes chanced upon each others, and I knew things would never be the same again.
It was as if time stood still
Just for that moment, I couldn't hear the noise from the bar, I couldn't smell the cigarette smoke, I couldn't focus anywhere else – all I could do was stare into her eyes.
Now, that's how I like to pretend I met my wife to be. In reality it was a lot different – Dave and myself had been celebrating my birthday in the time honoured way of an all day drinking session Mid evening and after too many beers to count in walked Heidi with 3 on the most beautiful girls I had seen, after a quick shake of the head and a re-focus I realised it was just one, Charlotte.
Well the pub closed and we all went back to Heidis for some more drinks after a few more bottles of wine Heidi fell asleep and Dave and myself proceeded with the game of how many cigarettes could we get to stick in Heidi's ear and nose without her waking up im still not sure if she ever knew that so sorry Heidi… after a few more drinks I think we all passed out and that unfortunately is the truth on how we met.
Anyway my actions however must of impressed Charlotte as after a quick and speedy period of dating – I proposed and Charlotte to my delight said yes.
Again that's not quite true she actually looked blankly at me for a while, thinking I had just said we should get married some when and not actually realising that I had proposed.
In Charlotte I was lucky enough to find an amazing partner who accepts me for being me, and someone who without a shadow of a doubt I want to spend the rest of my life with.
The other advice I found out whilst browsing the internet was stay away from speeches that might bring tears, im quite sure Charlotte would get embarrassed it if I started to cry, so with this in mind im going to skip that part and proceed with the toasts!
Our parents, Kevan and Lesley and my mum and dad.
We would like to thank you as we wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for you.
Thank you for all of your love and support over the years.
For all the advice you have given us
And for putting up with us and pointing us in the right direction.
And Dad Charlotte wants to thank you especially for getting me into computer games.
I just want to pass a big thank you to Kevan & Lesley for all the help with the wedding, Lesley even retired early and has spent the last few months sorting preparations, invitations and arrangements.
Char can you pass flowers to Lesley and Mum
Virginia & Dave and Russ & Jim
Thanks Virginia & Dave for the beautiful readings you both did so well earlier in church, im sure though Dave that we discussed some different words for your reading during the stag do, I think yours was probably better though.
Thanks Russ and Jim for the photos and the movies which im sure Char will get out on every possible occasion.

And last but not least, the best man – Scott, I'd like to thank Scott for agreeing to be my Best Man and sorting a great stag do out for me. We've been close now for around 8 years I think, and in that time he has proven to be and I hope will continue to be a great friend, I have to say one that rarely listens, in fact when I sent Scott a text saying "hi mate were staying in the tree tops, I just proposed to Char and she said yes"
he promptly replied back with a heart warming message of "cool, I cant get your internet to work at home though what's your wireless key" this made a little more sense later when I realised in true Scot fashion he hadn't read the text properly and had no idea that we were engaged.
Both me and Char got to know him really well when he asked if he could move in with us for a couple of months while he found a more permanent place.
When he finally did move out 2 YEARS LATER we were still the greatest of friends.. of course that could all change in the next few minutes when HE starts speaking…
Ladies and Gents to Scott
Anyway we have reached the moment you have all been waiting for and that I have been dreading…the best mans speech, however I do have to warn those who don't know Scott that he has a medical condition which forces him to make up random stories so a lot of what he says is in the next ten minutes is probably not true…
Well ill leave you with a little quote I found whilst looking for advice on this speech "They say a man is not complete until he is married – after that he is finished!"
And now its with great reluctance that I hand you over to Scott!
