Thank you all for coming and sharing our special day with us.

I can see you are all waiting with anticipation for me to recount the story of how Briony and I met, the interests we shared and how we reached where we are now.

One thing we shared was the enjoyment of expressing ourselves in writing and for those of you that don't know I proposed to Briony with a story. 

I'm hoping you don't mind if I tell you OUR story metaphorically that way now.

There once was a heroic prince, who obviously loved his food.  He worked hard and enjoyed the Company of his friends.  He thought he was happy.  He had chosen not to make the quest for a princess for a long time for fear of finding dragons.  But he started wondering if there could be more happiness than he already knew.

With prayers for the right princess, and that the dragons would not find him, he started his quest.

His search found a princess with great potential and he wrote to her every day eagerly awaiting each response that was undisappointingly more super than the last.

It was eventually time they should meet and the prince rode his heroic steed, which could have been a retired race horse with a name like national express, and went to meet her.

There he found her more beautiful, loving and caring than he had ever hoped her to be.  He was very blessed when they fell in loved and got married.

The prince still loves his food, but now he has someone to share it with.

My thanks to Briony's family for making me so welcome and my toast is for them….to the bride's family.
