“Ladies and Gentlemen, friends old and new, relatives old and new, on behalf of my beautiful wife and myself, thank you very much for being here today. For those who have travelled from overseas or from up north a very special thank you. I can safely say it wouldn't have been the same without you all…it would have been cheaper for a start, but that's beside the point. So we thank you all for your presence, in both senses of the word… Many people have told me how lucky I am to be marrying Beverly, including Beverly. It's puzzling because they never explained why. What does everybody know that I don't? I guess they must have tasted her cooking and they know she is a wonderful woman as I have learnt she is. I met Beverly 1 year and 5 days ago as she sat next to me at an RSVP dinner which Marie forced her to go on (thanks to Marie and I guess I owe you a drink) I knew she was special and despite me flinging her around the dance floor leaving her breathless (which you will see more of later) and after many late night WhatsApp sessions I knew there was something fantastic about her and we arranged to meet again and the rest, as they say is history. I proposed at the top of the Shard the day before Bev's 50th birthday, I know she doesn't look a day over 40! Her words in answer to me were ‘are you serious’ when I said yes she thankfully said yes too. An amazing day with a truly fantastic lady, now my wife. Now Hen weekends, yes in the plural. Who has two hen weekends? Well Bev does! Thanks to Liz and Ella for taking Bev on her first hen weekend in to the tree tops and on zip wires ending up with wood chips in her knickers, I'm still getting the splinters out now. Thanks also to Marie for organising Bev's second hen weekend in top-notch Bracknell hotel and to Liz and the other girls for getting Bev drunk, I've seen the video of you lot plying her with disinfectant and coke until she was ill and she couldn't attend a shopping trip in Reading the next day. Also gate crashing a private nightclub party, Bev twerking with Liz's help, I'm sure a sight to be missed and everyone playing naughty bingo too, but enough said about that! Many secrets from that weekend I will never find out about…But she had a fantastic time so thank you all again. Oh and for the girls who attended I can confirm 4!!! Words of wisdom were sort and after looking at Keats, Shelley and Shakespeare and I came up with some classic, deep meaningful word, from HOMER SIMPSON. When asked what being married is like Homer responded: “Marriage is like being married to your best friend.” “And he lets you play with his boobs.” Wise words indeed. They say, you don't marry someone you can live with – you marry the person who you cannot live without which is very true with Beverly and what I've just done today. It has also been said that marriage is a 50/50 partnership. Whoever said that knew nothing about women…and even less about fractions… But it is a partnership that I am very happy to be part of with my beautiful bride. Bev, I cannot imagine life without you, the laughter and great times we have together and I am so proud to be your husband and I want us to grow older, greyer and thinner on top in my case, together. Now some Thank Yous Thanks goes to Mark and Peter, Bev's brothers who gave her away today, I do promise I will look after her forever. GIFTS Thanks to Clair our wedding co-ordinator here at Magnolia Park who sorted mine and Phils golf out brilliantly.… and of course all of this we have here today, for the wonderful meal and thanks to the team behind it all. Thanks to SJ and Debs our unofficial photographers for the day, please make us look as good as you can! GIFT Just a note, Please any photos you take of this fantastic day on your phone or cameras send to us as a keepsake. Thanks goes to Chris who made the favours today, never did I know there were so many issues with getting a favour right but they are marvellous as I'm sure you will agree. GIFT Thanks to my golf partner and best man Phil. GIFT A very big thank you goes to our entourage, bridesmaid Ella and flower girl (or princess) Lyla who both look absolutely lovely and David our pageboy who is as handsome as his granddad. GIFTS Ladies and Gentlemen, please be upstanding. I would like to propose a toast … to the entourage. As Bev will tell you – I'm often wrong, but being a man I like to think is right, but in marrying Bev today, I know I've made the right decision and just know that every day will be as happy and full of fun as today is. You'll all be glad to hear that I've come to my final thank you. Bev, thank you for marrying me. You mean the world to me, I have so much to thank you for, and I love you with all of my heart. You look absolutely stunning today, but then again, you look fantastic to me every day. There are times in life when you feel grateful to have so many family and friends around you and this is one of them. Thanks everyone. Now I'm not going to stand here all afternoon and give you a load of stale old jokes, I'm going to leave that to my best man. Please bear in mind even I haven't heard his speech so it could be entertaining and somewhat embarrassing. I give you my oldest best mate, Phil, do your worst! Thank you all again.
