The most important things to do in the world are to get something to eat, something to drink and somebody to love you. The first two are easy, the last however is something of a Divine accident. The place where I proposed was the place where Emma and myself first kissed, that was in her back yard on her 18th birthday party. A small peck on the lips and the marvellous thing called love began to grow. Although far from superstitious Emma puts this event down to her buying 2 pink rocks that are supposed to bring love, my belief of why we began to fall in love that night is far more sensible and simple: she has gorgeous long legs……
As I learnt more of Em I actually realised I had found someone to challenge me in every facet, intelligence – ah ha you can't put anything over Em, trust – we tell each other everything, someone to fight with and play with, a friend – she is always ready to help me and encourage me, someone to make up with, someone to wake up with and someone to laugh with and someone to grow with. My heart is filled with a beauty eyes could never see or ears could not hear so I will stop trying to explain.
She fits into my family with ease and thanks to John and Donna I have been welcomed into hers.
On that note I would like to officially thank Donna for her lumpy gravy on one of the first meals I had at her place – I really do like the lumpy bits, and I would like to thank John on that nerve racking night when he said “yes – I'd love to have you in the family”. You guys, the boys and Amy have always made me feel welcome and for this I thank you.
I want to thank you Mum and Dad for what you have given me no money or deeds could repay, you have taught me everything that I hold dear and cherish, you two have been a pillar of strength of which I have modelled my life, you have taught me how to have fun, how to make friends, how to cherish every moment, how to stick up for myself, how to LOVE. You have helped me on my life journey thankyou for the way you are now helping both of us.
Donna, John, Mum and Dad thanks for this wonderful night, we could not have done it without you.
When I was talking to Dad about asking Em to marry me, in his wisdom he told me that when you get engaged or married no matter what happens you always have to find a way to work it out. I know I can do that with you Em.
Ren and Lee Ling Ling thankyou for being my sisters, we have had some great times and have many more to come, and thankyou for being bridesmaids. Amy thankyou for welcoming me into the family and looking after Em today. You three women look absolutely stunning.
Right now the energy inside of me is indescribable, hello to everyone I have not spoken to as yet I'm looking forward to getting around and having a chat. Thankyou on behalf of Em and myself for coming. Thankyou to all of our friends and family who have all individually contributed to what Em and myself are today, and to what we will become in the future.
Right now Im in love and out of words, before I pass over to Clint best man I will end on this:
Em everything you are is absolutely stunning, our love has a glowing depth, beauty, and joy – as the years increase so will it.
Emma you are dazzlingly beautiful and everyday that passes you look better and better. Today you look like tomorrow.
I love you and will forever. You are so perfect in everyway.
