Speech by John Kirkpatrick
Hi there I got a great amount of help from your site especially the speeches part. I am very shy and got really nervous but everything seemed to go OK on the day (15th June) and this site certainly helped me a lot. Below is my speech in which the layout and most of the ideas I got from your site. Thanks again. John Kirkpatrick

Thanks Derek (brides father), for your kind words
I was going to tell you about the fun cameras on your tables, but I see most
of you have found them already so I won't say anymore!
So on behalf of my wife and I………… we would like to thank you all for
coming here today and sharing our special day. Thank you for your kind
wishes, cards and presents. We hope you are all enjoying it as much as we
are.
I would like to say a special thank-you to those of you that have travelled
some distance to be here today.
We must also thank our parents, as we wouldn't be here today if it wasn't
for them. Thank you for your love and support over the years, for the advice
you have given us, for putting up with us and pointing us in the right
direction and we hope you are content that we are now someone else's
responsibility!
We would now like to present our mothers with a token of our appreciation
with some flowers.
Today is also a special day for my sister Ann and brother in law Keith.
Today is their 11th Wedding anniversary, and we'd just like to say a very
happy anniversary and also present Ann with some flowers.
The one person in this room to which I owe the most thanks is Michelle, my
wife. I am sure you will all agree how stunning my bride looks today.
I can honestly say I was overwhelmed when Michelle walked through those
doors today, and I would like everyone here today to know how happy I feel
that Michelle agreed to be my wife.
She is beautiful, intelligent, charming- the list is endless but
unfortunately I can't read the rest of her writing!!
But seriously though, to my wife, I would just like to say thank you for
marrying me, making me very happy and for loving me as much as I love you.
Thanks for making today the best day of my life.
I'd also now like to express my thanks to Peter for everything he has done.
Scoring the winning goal in the Scottish Cup Final against Celtic was just
superb……………..…
I've just realised that when Michelle said, "You'd better remember to thank
Peter", she didn't actually mean Peter Lovenkrands, but my best man Peter,
who is sitting at my right hand side here…….…
Peter and I have known each other for about 15 years or more and over the
years we have had quite a few good times, some of which I'm sure he'll tell
you about shortly- that is if he can actually remember them. I'd sincerely
like to thank him for being my best man today.
I'd also like to thank my very good friend Colin, it was very hard to choose
between Colin and Peter for the best man as they are 2 great friends, and
also Michelle's brother Derek for being the ushers and thank them on the
great job they did today.
We would also like to say a special thanks to Amy who will be cat sitting
for us while we're away on our honeymoon.
And now ladies and gentlemen, as they did a fantastic job, would you please
join me in a toast to our 2 lovely bridesmaids, Debbie and Leah. Debbie
and Leah……………………
Before I pass you on to Peter, Michelle wants to know where we're going on
our honeymoon. When we first talked about booking it up well over a year ago
and knowing that Michelle likes surprises we decided that she wouldn't know
where we were going until now. She's had that many jokes from others and
myself as to where it is I'll not say anymore.
I won't keep her in suspense any longer so it's 2 weeks in
Barbados…………………..…
Now finally over to Peter, the best man……………..…
