Thank you Paul for your kind words, and of course the jokes.

As you all may know I have been very nervous about doing this speech today so I have prepared a few lines – and after snorting them I feel fine.

Firstly, I would like to say, as a gay man this is undoubtedly the furthest I have ever gone to win a bet – so Craig I will collect my cheque later

On behalf of my wife & I – we would like to thank your for joining us today to celebrate our marriage / It is a privilege to be in the company of so many people that are important in our lives and we are delighted to welcome you here to share our special day with us – Its great to see you all and I can honestly say it would not have been the same with out you.  For Paul it would have been a lot cheaper, but that's beside the point.

Please can you all make sure that you have full glasses, as I will be making a few toasts!!! We would like to thank you all for your generosity and the fantastic gifts you have bought for us – they are all greatly appreciated. I would like to thank every body here at the hare and hounds for all there hard work today – the service has been absolutely fantastic. Also I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in making today so special

 Firstly to Paul & Jane

Traditionally I am supposed to thank you both at this point for welcoming me into the family, but it seems strange for me to do that today as you've both made me feel like a part of it for many, many years now.  I genuinely could not have asked for nicer in-laws. I also would like to thank you both for allowing me to marry your beautiful daughter. I love Kate with all my heart and will do everything I can to continue to make her happy. So as a token of our appreciation for all your help please accept these gifts.

A special thank you for all the love and support you have given me over the years.  You have always been there when I needed you and sometimes when I haven't. You have both taught me so much and I truly believe that you have made me the person that I am today, and I will always be grateful for that. It must be a great feeling to realise that you raised such a perfect son – So to say a big thank you for all your help and support we have some gifts here for you.

That leads me to the star of today, my gorgeous new wife Kate

Kate I want everyone here to know how lucky I feel to be here right now. Kate is beautiful, intelligent, funny, caring, the list is endless but unfortunately I cant read the rest of her writing.

Seeing you walk down the aisle today I realised how truly lucky I am. I also realised that I have got the best out of this deal – you look absolutely amazing and nothing prepared me for what I saw when you walked down the aisle today

One of the best things about being a man is that weddings seem to organise themselves and I would like to say a huge thank you to Kate for doing a excellent job organising everything for our special day.

Kate I love you in so many ways and for so many reasons because you know me and understand me like no one else ever could – because you believe in my dreams and care about my feelings – because you make me laugh so hard and smile so often – because you have a way of bringing out the very best in me – so Kate thanks for marrying me and making me the happiest man alive.

Family and friends please raise your glasses to my bride / my wife / the love of my life Kate!

To our bridesmaids Tracy, Clare and our beautiful flower girl Mia. I'm sure everyone here will agree that you all look stunning today. Thank you for all your help with the wedding preparations and for all the support you have given Kate over the years. I know how much you mean to her and how important it is for you to be a part of our special day – if you would like to come up we have some gifts for you

Thank you also to our ushers Gary, Dan and Matt. They have all done an excellent job ensuring that everything has run smoothly today and may I say you all scrub up quite well /thanks Gary for being a great brother to me and Dano and Matty for being damn good mates/ so if you would all like to come up we have some gifts for you.

My final thank you goes out to my best man Craig. I would like to thank you for agreeing to be my best man and also paying for my lap dance in Benidorm. No, on a serious note I would like to thank you not only for being my best man today, but also for being a great friend to me over the years and for all your support and sound advice – we have a gift here for you So please go easy on me in your speech.

 So if everyone would raise their glasses to the bridesmaids, ushers and best man.
