Speech by Liam Kreibich
I found it very hard to start this, but then decided to go for the rhymes and it just started flowing. Very pleased to say it went very well on the day :)

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and thank you all for coming.
I have to say it's been quite a day, but I really must first say something.
When I proposed to my former fiancée, who I can now proudly call my wife,
I thought a good speech would be out of my reach, and it really did cause me some strife.
So as everyone knows, I like to compose bad songs and bad lyrics as well,
So I hope you don't mind, that I've done this in rhyme, but by now you can probably tell.
My thanks to the bridesmaids, Hannah and Kate, for a wonderful job well done,
They've been there behind Carly body and mind, and even convinced her not to run.
But seriously though, they've both been so great, and I feel like I've known them for years.
They've welcomed me in, to the crazy worlds they live in, and I hope I've got nothing left to fear.
Thanks of course to Joel and Jack, my brother and best mate sat here,
Joel's always been ’round, through the ups and the downs, and Jack just owes me a beer.
Of course, that's not true, and unfair on Jack, he's been a great friend for some time.
From the trips into town, when many sorrows were drowned, to the stag-do (but we'll leave it there, that's fine).
Huge thanks must go to Pam and Dave, for letting me marry their wonderful girl,
We couldn't have bought such love and support, and thanks for letting me into your world.
Now I'd like to explain the story behind, the decorations before your eyes.
It was Simon, my Dad, who said he'd be glad if he came back as a dragonfly.
So as he can't be here, the decision was made, to honour his spirit this way.
And I know he looks down, and he'd be very proud, of me and my wife on this day.
And so to my Mum, who gave me this life, and so much to be thankful for.
She's smart and courageous, seems to look younger as she ages, and I'll love her forever more.
But enough of the others, this is my chance to say, that I love my new wife, it's true!
Because she's beautiful, caring, tells her Dad off for swearing, and I couldn't be happier with you.
Carly first caught my eye, one day whilst at work, and we were soon having a drink with the others.
But she thought what a fool, when I said we'd met at school, until it clicked… she'd remebered my brother!
But despite that mishap, we made it work, and I proceeded to fall head over heals,
Because she's thoughtful and kind, a very rare find, and I just love the way she makes me feel.
So over the years, we went through a lot, but the seeds of love we're eventually sown,
And as I look in her eyes, I know I was wise, to ask her to be my very own.
So all that remains is for me to say, please raise a glass to my wife.
I hope that this “cheers” echoes through all of our years, I will love you for the rest of my life.
*TOAST*
“To Carly!”
