Hello…Before I start my speech there was something I was meant to say but I just can't remember just give me a second to think about it…

Oh yes on behalf of my wife and I there was a secret raffle which took place and there are gifts to be given out to the winners; I am not saying that it was fixed but I won 1st prize…Now I know you will all be thinking that is Sandra, but no my prize is having you all here today to share the start of our married life, so on behalf of my wife and I would like to say a big thanks.

Some people have travelled a couple of miles, others have travelled a couple of thousand miles so thank you all for the effort you put in getting here…I would also just like to say before I forget thank you for all the gifts that you have given us…Each and everyone is valued and a reminder of our special day today…

Iain thank you for your kind words you said about my now wife. (I know how hard it must have been)…I was going to say that you made up my speech as you are used to speaking in pressure situations and we get on fine I did not want to blame you for any  disaster that maybe coming  in the next couple of minutes….Thank you and we appreciate the help you gave us and that goes out to Chantel and Zoe as well…Hannah, Natasha & Zoe Sandra's 3 bridesmaids don't they all look fantastic… You all did a great job today so thank you…..

Scott thank you (I think) for your speech. I never knew you had such a vivid imagination to come up with the things you said about me. I got to know Scott and his family when I moved to Glenrothes. I would see him passing the window and knew he must be a good guy as like me he is a Rangers supporter so one day I was in the kitchen and saw that he was washing his car so I thought I had better go and say hello. We got chatting and that was the start of a great friendship that has lasted over the years….His wife Janet made me feel very welcome as well even when I used to pop in for 10 min and not go home till the early hours of the morning…  (Just like I did on my stag do) Talking about my stag do….Thank you for all the effort you put into to it and as this is the 1 and only time I will be getting married I will not need to call on your helper Bob to take that job of you again…Scott phoned me about 4 weeks ago to say that he had a chest infection and if I was one to panic I might have thought ‘who will be my best man now’ but no I just texted Auchtermuchty to say to Dave to get a speech ready…But as you can see that was not needed much to Dave's relief….

To my mum thank you for helping bring me up to be this fine person that is standing here today. And my dad who would be proud of me as well.

Thank you Fran for helping Sandra plan her wedding…With your help we managed to keep within our wedding budget…Also bob, Fran said you had magic in your fingers and you proved that with the tunes you played, so thank you…Mo I can see you have had practice reading the poem and it showed…Linda, my sister and George my brother in law thank you for bringing my niece Natasha over for her bridesmaid fittings…she looks stunning just as she will look in a few years time for her next  appearance…

So I now turn to Sandra. My Wife…You said your dress was stunning and you were correct but not as stunning as you look. I know for months I have been winding you up by saying I might not turn up but you knew that I would be here. (Well you did after you saw your card I left for you last night and your house table decoration I left for you this morning…) Thank you for marrying me and making me very happy and for loving me as much as I love you.

And I know this is the start of many more happy years together. My wife and I are both the youngest children that both parents had so if it was not for all the power cuts that happened in 1967 we might not be here today…As Gillian said during the ceremony Sandra and I both work in the same place but we never met until we were put in the Modem room and that was when we got to know each other…There was a radio in the room and along with the other people we used to play guess the year. Now I used to get the year correct about once every 2 weeks so I think Sandra used to feel sorry for me as she would 99 % of the time get the year correct so she used to start telling me what the year was from there on in…I used to wheel myself over to Sandra in my chair just for an excuse just to talk to her…We were talking about birthdays in the room one day and I asked Sandra when her birthday was she said have a guess and to her astonishment I was only 2 days out…Sandra's birthday was coming up so I innocently said that we should go out for a drink to celebrate her day. So along with the other people in the room that is what we did…As time went on we used to chat about what we liked and did not like. I used to say what weird and wonderful concoction I would be having for tea…Sandra said that one of her favourite meals was Sausage Casserole so I said that she would have to come up to the house to sample my Sausage Casserole some time and hence to say she came up and has been enjoying it ever since…Sandra, or to give you your new full name Mrs Sandra Mary Jenkin. You are now my wife, we are starting our new life, and you just throw the dice will add the spice…

Before I end in front of you all you have your place cards but one of you has two special dots on it. Could I get you all to check and see who has it…Well that worked out so Dave I know you were most happy when I picked Scott to be my best man as you where the other contender for the job so I did not like to leave you out as you have been a good friend over the years as well so could you open the envelope and stand up and say what is inside… This will give you a chance to show off your new suit that you bought for our wedding today…Thank you. Mine is a Jack & Coke

Well that was not so bad if I have forgot to thank anyone I'm sure you will forgive me this once so can I ask you all to stand up and toast my stunning wife Mrs Sandra Mary Jenkin…
