Welcome to our wedding breakfast! I hope you are all enjoying yourselves on this special day. Its good to see close friends and family and so on behalf of my wife and I, the biggest thank you goes to all for coming. The day wouldn't have been the same without you – just a lot cheaper!

On a serious note its not the luxuries and trimmings that have made this wedding so enjoyable for Karen and me, its being able to celebrate surrounded by friends and families, so thanks for coming.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to have everyone we love here with us today, my parents and Karen's dad to name a few, but we know they're here with us in spirit. They're not only in our thoughts today, but more importantly they're with us in our hearts. So, with them in mind, would you please, raise your glasses, &amp join me in a toast to absent family &amp friends.

Ladies &amp Gentlemen, &quotAbsent Family &amp Friends&quot

Then there is my new Mother in law, Marlene, who has welcomed me into the family since day 2, day 1 was a little rocky. Just kidding! She has been great since the first time we met.

They say, ”To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little. To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all. . . . . It works for me.

I would personally like to thank my lovely wife Karen, for having me as her husband! I read somewhere that &quotYou don't marry the person you can live with, you marry the person you cannot live without&quot. Well we've lived together for four years and I know I've married the right person. I'm so glad I can at last call you my wife.

Karen I love you so much and look forward to spending the rest of our lives together. I feel very lucky, Karen is beautiful, kind, caring, a wonderful mother to Craig &amp Laura and I would go on except that I can't read her writing.

Karen and I would like to thank the three bridesmaids, Michelle, Laura &amp Becky. You've all been terrific and done a great job today. I'm sure you'll all agree that they all look beautiful. We hope you like your necklaces and will remember your involvement today whenever you wear them.

Ladies and Gentlemen, please join us in a toast . to the bridesmaids.

So, that's enough from me, it now gives me great pleasure to hand over to my best man, my son Christopher who finally got to see his dad drunk after 23 years. Sorry Michelle no video!! Can't remember a great deal about my stag night but I'm sure Christopher will invent a few fanciful stories. He really does believe these stories to be true and I thank you for humouring him during his speech.

I'd like to ask him now to give a short best man's speech – and would appreciate it if he would take it easy on me!
