On behalf of Suzanne and myself I would like to thank everyone for coming today. Everyone has travelled to be here in order that you might share this special day with us and we are delighted to see you all. Thank you for your cards, kind thoughts and wedding gifts especially the big cheques! Thanks Uncle Edun.
Unfortunately there are some people, who cannot be here with us today.
Auntie Jay who is too weak to come to the wedding but said she will be thinking of us both.
My Auntie Carol who died of cancer in 98 and if she where here would have reminded me of my wee yellow suit I wore to her and Uncle John's wedding.
All our relatives in Mauritius who can now legally call Suzanne beautiful daughter in law.
And last but not least Claire Muir, Claire and Dougie were double booked and we drew the short straw and Dougie is here with us today!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents for my upbringing and the sacrifices, which were never fully appreciated by me at the time. But if I have to listen to the hardship story of the olds when a chicken lasted the whole weekend I will disown them! If you don't know the story it goes Friday they would buy a fresh chicken. Roast it Friday night, Saturday chicken fricassee, Sunday chicken soup and chicken curry and Suzanne wonders why I hate chicken! No but seriously thanks for the start you gave me in life and all the love and care over the years.
I would like to thank Suzanne's dad Peter for his kind words, I am really proud to have become Suzanne's husband and in the process becoming Camiel and Peter's son in law. I would like to thank them for the kindness that they have shown me and for welcoming me into their family from day one.
They have been there for both Suzanne and I giving us all the help they could, especially Peter's efforts in the house. Oh and by the way the picture on the T.V. in the living room is still on the blink!
We would like to thank the following people for making this day special.
Anne Brennan the minister for marrying us today and for all the advice she has given when organising the wedding, especially the one about counting to ten before saying anything to anyone!
My cousin Ryan the violinist for the music during the service.
My Uncle John for reading the wonderful poem.
Mark and Russell for being our ushers, great job guys.
I was going to say my best man Adrian for keeping me calm this morning but the fact I didn't see him until twenty minutes before the wedding I won't, thanks Dougie for keeping me calm. I might thank Adrian for his speech later once I have heard it!
Karen and the staff at the hotel for all their work.
I would like to thank Loch Tay boats for keeping Suzanne in the boat and out of the river Tay!
Jim at the flower shop in Aberfeldy who has done a great job and with that we would like to present our mum's with a token of our appreciation.
The one person who I owe the most thanks is my wife Suzanne. I can honestly say I was overwhelmed when she approached the jetty. I would like to say thank you for marrying me and making me very happy and for loving me as much as I love you( I struggled through this close to tears).
I would like to propose two toasts.
To absent friends
My wife Suzanne Catherine Martin
