Good afternoon everyone and welcome to our wedding. Thank you all for coming today and making this day as special as it can be for Lauren and me, thank you all for our gifts and cards it means a great deal to us. Now I do hope you all enjoyed your meals? And the staff will now come round with itemised bills for you all so there is no arguing about who had what.
also I would like to thank Frank for he's kind words and all the effort and of course money he has help put In to today and of course for letting me marry his beautiful daughter.
I'm going to give you all fair warning there is going to be a few toasts raised during this speech as then that gives me an excuse to drink, so try and hold back on necking your egg cup amount of Prosecco.
So with all happy events there are always people that we wish that could be here with us today being that friends or family but that are not here but in our hearts and thoughts. So could you all please join Lauren and I in a toast to these people who are “Gone but not forgotten”
Gone but not forgotten.
Mum &. Dad. Thank you for welcoming Lauren into our family and showing her that in our house you either eat quickly or don't eat at all. Thank you on so many counts for being there for us in our time together whether it be for withdrawing from the bank of mum and dad or just a talk for advice, you haven't done bad out of 2 sons, from one you 3 amazing grandchildren and from the other one got,.… a Lauren . I know I was never the perfect angel when I was growing up, I do know I put you through your paces, also know now that I didn't won't for anything, but I'm not taking all the blame, “he started it” But really, you have been there when we have all needed you and for that we thank you. I know I've got to keep this one short otherwise I know mum will most likely be a blubbering wreck. Thank you for being you and I hope I have done you proud.
Kathy & Frank. Thank you again for welcoming me into you family and giving me this chance to marry your beautiful daughter and becoming your son-in-law, you have both done a brilliant job in raising such a talented, amazing and sometimes air headed daughter.
But thank you again for the bottom of our hearts for being there and being the people you are and again for raising such an amazing person for me to marry. And if you could all please just humour frank later on when he tells you about asking the bar man for 4 pints and only getting 3 1/2 that would be great.
Could you all now please raise your glasses to our parents?
(Hand out gifts to parents)
Jess- Bridesmaid. I would like to thank and congratulate jess for winning the last bridesmaid standing contest. Trophy to follow. Jess your looking beautiful today and I'm pretty sure it means even more to Lauren that you are here now sitting with her in this HER big day. You have been there for her and for us many times in the past and for that we would like to extent our thanks. As far as I can tell you have done an amazing job in keeping her calm and collect today and over the past 11 months, whether it be a quick phone call or getting her out of the house away from me, so once again thank you
Please raise your glasses to Jess
(Hand out gift to Jess)
Ushers. So next on the list are my best man and my ushers Pete, Ashley, Russell and of course my brother Barry who until about 2 weeks ago didn't know that he was going to be an usher, some might say that the guy in charge of telling him is a little unorganised. And of course my best man Matthew. He may not be just round the corner anymore but still a phone call away Thank you all for your help today it means a lot to Lauren and I that you helped the day run so smoothly. There would have been 1 more of you to spread the load over but he decided he wanted to better himself and move to America. Please all just raise a glass to Peter Rowe and wish him all the luck he deserves.
To peter.

Lauren Now we have come the special part of today's lecture, the part where I talk about me amazingly beautiful new wife Lauren. Firstly I would like to say you look amazing today. Also I want to thank and congratulate you on putting up with me I know I'm easy to live with coz I'm mostly never there . Ironically enough I spend most of my time here. Now many women wouldn't want to get married where there newly wedded husband works but you jumped at the chance, mainly because it was booked before I asked you to marry me and we got a great discount. I'm so glad you made it here today I was slightly sceptical you wouldn't make it, lucky you had someone else driving you who did do geography.
We have had many happy times in our years together and I'm glad I got to share them with someone as perfect as you. Our relationship over the years has never really changed from the first night we meet there is still plenty of insults thrown around and loads of me mugging you off. I still remember that evening when we met. It was one our classy evenings together as the boys in the most sophisticated watering hole in Dartford “the royal Victoria and Bull Hotel” also known as “the bull and Vic” I had consumed a couple of pints of confidence and then you walked up to the pool tables where we was discussing the fine arts of classical music coming from the bar area. That's where I was, ahead of the table from you and our first encounter was you obstructing the flow of my balls. So I turned to you and the sweetest words uttered from lips was “you shouldn't have been standing there” as you can all tell love blossomed from that moment. Fast forward a while later you had stolen my shoe and run around the pub with it, but you had also stolen my heart.
I am so happy you gave me the honour to be your husband and to spend many more happy years together with you. Plenty more nights of you falling asleep on the couch, dribbling and plenty more cheap haircuts for me. Plenty more times dad and I have to show you how to rap spaghetti round a folk Plenty more nights I lose 90% of the bed and all the cover
Lauren you have grown up to be a caring, hardworking, loving and selfless person and I know your mum and dad are proud of you.
I was happy when you said yes to me last December but over the moon you said yes this afternoon Thank you again for today you have made very happy
So please ladies and gentlemen family and friends raise your glasses and the roof for my new wife Lauren.
So now ladies and gentlemen it has come to point of the day where I hand you over to MY best man Matthew Barber.
