Dustinguished guests, guests of no particular distinction , relatives friends, family, freeloaders hangers on gypsies and anyone else who may have wandered in on behalf of my of my wife and I welcome to our wedding,.

as most of you know, I'm quite a shy nervous person, so I prepared a few lines. And having snorted them in the toilets I feel absolutely fabulous now.

Today is a very historic day. On this day in 1886 the Statue of Liberty was erected and in 1675 King Charles II of England lays the foundation stone for the Royal Observatory at Greenwich. And on this day in the year 2007, you wonderful people have attended this wedding reception and will have heard the finest wedding speech of your entire lifetime, and my two best men gareth and stuart will be making it very shortly.

Its at this point karen and I would like to thank a few people

Firstly Karens parents Derek and Janet who have welcomed Gabriel and I into their family right from day 2 – day 1 was a bit rough , but hey they are over it now and for making me feel like the son they never wanted , sorry must e a typo there, ……

Now Derek and Janet will know more than most that their daughter is beautiful, kind, caring and intelligent, though she can be a little high maintenance at times … however the fact that Derek has caught Karen up at 8am making cups of tea at their house never been seen before – I think tehy realised that their daughter had finally met her match in more ways than one… and I do believe we are a perfect match.
Janet and Derek have also continually allowed us to go away for weekends , to keep our sanity and to have adventures as a couple and we cannot thank you enough for that, but here is a small token of our appreciation for all you do for us.

Likewise we would like to thank my parents who have also helped us with looking after the boys – allowing us to spend two fantastic weeks in South Africa at Patti and Daves wedding – sorry, I couldn't get a rhino through the door though i am sure we will see some strange wildlife on the danceflor later.

Also for providing a fab home from home in Spain that the the family just love coming to … They have also helped us financially with this party so that we could extend the celebration to those that we had originally put on the b list .…

I am joking there – today wouldnt be today without all of you that we hold dear being here. Eileen, Robert we have a small token of our appreciation.

We would like to thank the bridesmaids who have travelled all the way from america to be with us … tnow we have discussed this at great length and they assure me they do not share the view of their adoptive countries foreign policy…they do look absolutely beautiful however and have done a fantastic job today. so thankyou and i am glad your gifts already look beautiful on you

Thankyou to Gabriel and Judah for being the most fabulous ring bearers and really helping us today – they truly are the most beautiful two boys we know, every day they do somehting that reminds us why we love you so much and the bond that makes us into a family unit today will always be there. Here's a small present for both of you that I know you have been looking forward to all day

Finally to karen, my wife, now I have written several poems over the course of our time together and i did try to write another poem today about how i feel about karen but I couln't get bride, maldives and erection to rhyme.

No seriously, i mentioned that Karen may seem high maintennace to some but that is actually the wrong impression , karen is a beautiful, warm, loving, intelligent and funny person who gives her best to evrything that she applies herself to and as such demands that back and i think that anyone here that knows us will know that karen and i just have a great time together – are always ready to party, which we will tonight … which reminds me actually – as you know we are not having the traditional wedding today and so for the first dance .… and anyone who knows us will know which song its going to be…… we would kindly ask that you all share the floor with us and start the evening off as you mean to go on.

I would go on waxing lyrical about Karen's attributes but unfortunaltely i can” t read any more of her writing suffice to say Karen, I love you with all my heart and have since the very first day I saw you – thankyou for letting me be a part of your life and I promise to always wake up next to you with a smile

So to finish off can I introduce the best speech writers I know … Gareth and Stuart,

I asked Gareth and stuart to be my joint bestmen because I know that they both really wanted to do some public speaking .… in fact you can tell by looking at them how eager they are to talk to you all…… but in all seriousness they are two very dear friends who are always there for me, karen and the boys and so without further ado thankyou all for not falling asleep during my speech and if we don't get to spend that much time tonight individually with some of you then thankyou sincerely from our hearts for coming
