WIFE & I]
And so, for the very first time, I'd like to say, ‘On behalf of my Wife and I’ [PAUSE], we would like to thank you all for coming today and sharing our special day.
Without you, our family and friends, today would not have been so special.
We would like to say thank you for all the lovely cards and gifts we have received and hope that you have all enjoyed the day so far.
[THANK YOU'S]
There are a few thank you's I'd like to make today.
[CHRIS & JOHN]
I would like to thank Helen's Mum and Dad, John and Chris [PAUSE], for their support and generosity, not just preparing for today, but during the past 7 years since Helen and I met, and the past 29 years & 10 months since a very special baby was born to them.
The kindness and friendship you have shown me by welcoming me into your family, made it very easy for me to fit in. You shouldn't look at it as losing a daughter but gaining a son…
And considering how I was as a child, my parents might have considered a deal!
I hope I am everything you would like in a son in law and I promise to continue to take very special care of your baby.
<FLOWERS TO CHRIS>
[DAD & PAM]
We would also like to say thank you to my Dad Ron and Pam for their generosity with today, and for agreeing to look after our two babies, Charlie and Patch, whilst we are away on our honeymoon.
<FLOWERS TO PAM>
[THANKS – BEST MAN]
I'd like to thank Mike for agreeing to be my best man. However, that could well change within the next few moments!
He kindly let me lodge at his house for approx. 4 years and could obviously compare notes with Helen. However, I'm sure that he will only have good things to say later on
[THANKS – USHERS]
The ushers, Alan and Phil who ushered everyone into the church like a shepherd with his sheepdog…, you can both argue over whowas who later on!
[THANKS – DONNA]
I would like to say special thanks to Donna, for a beautiful reading at the church.
[PAUSE]
To Helen, my beautiful bride, my wife, my friend, my soul mate, thank you for marrying me after 7 years together and making me the happiest man in the world.
You look absolutely stunning, as always, and you still take my breath away…
So, if you could remember to remove you hands from around my throat…
only joking…
[THANKS – BRIDESMAIDS]
Finally, on behalf of Helen and me, I would like to say thank you to Karen and Donna for being Bridesmaids. I'm sure that you will all agree with me when I say that they look gorgeous.
[TOAST – BRIDESMAID]
Ladies and gentlemen, would you please be upstanding as I'd like to propose a toast…
To the Bridesmaids.
[HANDOVER – BEST MAN]
Before I sit down and hand over to my Best Man and friend Mike, I'd just like to stress that he has only recently come back from Singapore & Hong Kong and could still be suffering with jet lag… need I say more…
Ladies and Gentlemen, my Best Man, Mike…
