It's now time for the part that I've been dreading To give you all my speech on the day of my wedding To think of something clever, where my wife won't give me a slap. I decided to do this in rhyme, although this could be a bit craaaa…rubbish.
So please everyone, can I have the attention of the room As I'm about to give my speech, yes me a happy groom. Drinks are on offer so I'll try not to be long. And don't worry all, I won't break out in to song.
Well the wait to get wed is now officially over And I'm standing here with my wife, and I could not be happier To call Amanda my wife is like a massive dream come true And I want to remind her again, that I truly do love you.
To all of our guests that have kindly gathered here today Thank-you so very much for joining in our extremely special day Our family and friends are so important to us both And our day would not be this good if you weren't here with us.
My task is now to express our gratitude and thanks To so many people that have helped, been with us, and given us some cash So on behalf of myself and my beautiful wife I begin with the thanks, the most important of my life.
So, firstly I start with my new Father-In-Law And thank him for his kind words that you've just heard before You have welcomed me so much in to your lovely family. And I promise now to behave whenever I'm in your company.
The beauty of having of you as my Father-In-Law, Steve Is I can call you up for a game of golf and I know you'll be pleased So whenever I feel down and I need a quick ‘pick-me-up’ We can go shoot a round as we'll both know who will triumph.
I'd also like to thank-you, with all of my heart For raising a daughter with beautiful charm. She's the perfect present that you could have ever given me Although I almost forgot about the 42 inch coloured TV.
But I stand here today and make you a promise To stand by your daughter, love her and cherish I'll promise to protect her every minute, every day And look after her at all times to in my own special way.
Talking of In-Laws there's two people I can't forget My new sisters – Kate and Anna – their truly the best. Well I say there the best, but if truth be told. Anna winds me up rotten, although her practical jokes are truly gold.
Right on to my mum and dad, I hope they don't go shy And there is no use in them hiding behind that big bottle of wine There the best parents a son could have, that's all so true. Although there's a couple a naughty secrets that I could tell you.
I hope you are proud of the man that I have become. If you are – then that's good – as its all down to you, dad and mum You've looked after me when I've been good and even when I've been bad. You even showed me right from wrong and sometimes helped me out with a bit of cash.
Mum, you've cooked and cleaned and never ever rant You've even had time to put away my underpants. Dad, you done none of what I've just mentioned, but have no fear As I'll always love you because you introduced me to beer.
But joking aside, I love you both very much. Your truly the best parents and you've showed me so much love. So to you and my new in-laws there's a few gifts that we have. So can I ask everyone else to give them a clap.
GIFTS TO MUM, DAD, STEVE, ANNA and KATE
I have to tell you all this, but I'm not even half way through. So I'll try go a bit quicker because I bet some need the loo. But there are still a few more thanks that I need to give. And of course speak about my wife, who I can't afford to miss
So on to my brother, who's been my usher today. He's even been our toastmaster – his talents are great. His quick wit and humour – he's the joker of the Dove family. But he's started to laugh at my dad's jokes, which have never been funny.
My brothers my mate, a real good guy. He's one in a million, I'm not going to lie. I thank him for everything he's done – you're the best bro around. And you have always helped me keep my feet on the ground.
And talking of ushers – I can't afford to miss. Gary Riddle, a mate, who some of the girls think is fit. In fact girls he's single – I know – so if anyone wants to try their luck. I can give you his number and you can go around for a quick kiss.
And now I move on to my best man, big Mr G. Who I've known since I was a child – I was probably about three. He's the greatest mate I've had and he's never a pain. It's just a bit of shame he supports the boys from White Hart Lane.
I actually gave a best man speech at his wedding to his wife, Jo. I'm now actually regretting it a lot, and I'll tell why in a mo. It's because I've just realised who will have the final say and the final laugh. So I'm going to get a quick cheap shot in while time allows.
They say it's tradition at a wedding that the best man cops off. With certain individuals, and we can see there are a lot. So to the bridesmaids – I'm sorry with all of my heart. That I didn't pick a better looking guy who don't look like an old fart.
But talking of the bridesmaids, who all look wonderful today. I thank you so much for taking care of my wife in your own special way. I know it has meant a lot to my wife to have you are all by her side. You've made her day even more special, more unique, you're all so kind.
So to both our entourages and our motley crew Up you all step as we have present for you too.
PRESENTS FOR SIMON, GARY, BROTHER, NICOLA AND ANITA.
I now want to say some words about my kind-hearted nan. She's brilliant and wonderful and she's oh so grand. With her big infectious laugh and big broad smile. She like a second mum to me and I love her all the while.
There's so many great things that I can say about my nan. And if time allowed, I can go on forever, she is that grand. But its important for me to say thanks for everything you do And I hope this is the best way that I can say that i love you.
I only wish that my grandad was here with me to celebrate to. I miss him so much, I really really do. He was a man that I've always admired, he was a real true gent. And someone that I will never, ever forget.
I know grandad your looking down from the clouds on our big special day. I even know you approved of Amanda – you said she was A-OKAY. I really hope I become a man just like you. Thank you so much – from my heart – I'll never forget about you.
I hope nan, I haven't made you sad or even cried. Uncle do me a favor can you wipe the tears away from her big brown eyes. Nan, come on up, as I have a present for you. Just to show my appreciation and to tell you again, that I do love you.
PRESENT FOR NAN.
Today would not have been possible without some very special friends All talented and gifted there knowledge seems to never end. And both Amanda and me would like to thank them all individually. As you have all gone some way to saving us lots of money.
First there is Steph who has been snapping away. I really can't wait to see her picture of the day. I just hope she pictures me good and I'm not that fat. And I don't look so ugly like our big massive cat.
Then there is Helen and our friend Danni too. Who've been baking away – to provide special treats for you. Our cupcakes are great, they really are the best. And our wedding cake looks delicious, I'll be the first to do a taste test.
We would also like to thank Nicola and my dad too for all their hard work. They both did a lot of fancy and nifty bits of artwork. And then there's Cheryl who has done wonders with Amanda's hair. I think my wife looks beautiful, fantastic and full of flair.
We would also like to thanks Maylands Golf Club and all of their staff. Who helped serve us with beer, which will undoubtedly make us laugh. And particular thanks must go to Neel and Claire Who supported us all the way and showed so much care.
So can Steph, Helen, Danni and Cheryl all step up. Our presents to you are to say thanks so much.
PRESENTS FOR STEPH, DANNI, HELEN, CHERYL,
For anybody I haven't mentioned then please don't worry as we love you too. But I'm afraid if I speak much longer then some people might begin to boo. From uncles, aunts, cousins and anyone else we may have forgotten Your support means a lot and you're all truly golden.
If I can move away from the wedding for a second or two There is just one more person that I don't want to miss – who recently had some good news She gaveb to her first baby girl and its now become her bundle of joy So Debbie, come and get our gift for her – a squishy cuddly toy.
PRESENT FOR DEBBIE
So that's about it, I can't think of anyone I have missed And guys I hope I haven't made you all wanna be sick. But hold on a moment I think there may have been someone I forgot. Oh yeah – my wife – how could I forget as we've just tied the knot.
I guess many of you all know our history and the way that we met It began when we found each other on a site on the internet. We then exchanged some Emails but quickly got frustrated by that So we decided to jump in the deep end And we met for some lunch and a chat
We met at the Jack and Jenny pub in Witham on a cold Sunday September I have to admit it was a day that I certainly remember. I remember it because we got on so well and I thought she was the best. But more importantly cause Amanda looked hot in a killer purple dress.
But I honestly never expected such a major change in my life And that a few years later that Amanda would be my wife. To me Amanda is beautiful she's understanding, gentle and smart With a lovely sweet caring nature that truly touches your heart
She's all that a man could wish for a partner that's truly exciting I could go on and on with such plaudits but I just cannot read Amanda's writing However on a serious note I just meant every last word And I'm now about to repeat it to make sure that everyone heard
To me Amanda is beautiful she's understanding, gentle and smart With a lovely sweet caring nature that truly touches my heart She's all that I could wish for a partner that's truly exciting. They're not Amanda- they are my words and it's definitely in my writing
So now that I've made it quite clear that my words were what I meant It's time for a toast – so please be upstanding all of you ladies and gents
PEOPLE STAND
Now I trust that my lovely new TOWIE wife Amanda will not feel uncomfortably coy When we all drink a toast –
TO AMANDA – MY NEW BRIDE AND JOY.
THE TOAST
Right that's truly it from me – I'm sorry if I whittled on and on. Men – you can now check the footy scores to see if your team has won. But if I can ask a favour and get someone to check for me to see how Luton got on. As I'm afraid if I check my phone, my wife could be gone.
But joking aside, we will remember this day with great fondness and affection. Thank you all so very much for being here – this day is perfection It truly has been a pleasure to recall And it's been great to share it with you so thank you one and all.
