I want to start off by saying that Brett only married Tiika to be related to me. To those of you who don't know me I am Azalea, Natiika's very proud and honored big sister. I would like to begin by thanking all of you, on behalf of Natiika and Brett, for sharing in this most special day. I would also like to thank Natiika for honoring me by asking me to be her matron of honor. You both look absolutely stunning today!
Natiika has always been my "baby sister" and will forever be a best friend. I mothered her as a baby, helped care for her when she was sick, cried with her when she was sad, and cheered her on as she was learning and growing. Our relationship has grown from playing Barbie's, to arguing when she took my slouchy socks, and hair scrunchies, to making tents under our trundle bed, and having her fall out of bed on top of me, to now sharing with each other the most precious and life changing events in life. Natiika stood by me as I got married, was there when Diego was born, and witnessed Nyah's grand entrance into the world. Now as she and Brett join their lives together, I look forward to sharing in all of their precious life changing events.
Brett, you are the perfect addition to our family, I couldn't have picked a better man for my sister. You started out overwhelmed by how many of us there are, and now you know all of our names. You were nervous about holding a new baby, and now "my babies" have you wrapped around their little fingers. Words cannot express how proud and happy I am for you both today. I wish that as you look back on today, your wedding day, that this is the day you love each other the least. I'd like to share a poem I found that I think very nicely summarizes the days events.
A wedding day will be remembered
For all the joy it brings
A day of love and happiness
Of vows and wedding rings
A day of new beginnings
Learning what love truely means
Your wedding day is just the start
Of many hopes and dreams
