Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen,
Firstly, On behalf of the bride and the groom, I would like to thank everyone for sharing this special day with them!
For those of you who don't know me, I am Bhavisha, Parita's friend from university. Ever since Parita told me I had to do a speech, I have been trying to get myself out of it, but now that I have the opportunity and on behalf of all her friends, little does she know we are about to give her a character assassination! … And it will be even more fun now because Amit's already married her and it's too late for him to back out!
Just before I start I'd just like to say Paru look absolutely stunning as for Amit, well you just look stunned!
Those of you who have grown up with her, lived with her, worked with her, you will recognise some of Paru's trademarks. Amit no doubt you know all these and remember these have been REGISTERED along side your name this morning!
Here they are:
Firstly: What she wants – she gets
For example when Paru first saw Amit perform his camera skills at her brothers wedding, She chased him endlessly even after he expressed he had no interest and NOW he can't get his hands off her!
Secondly: Loves to have tantrums – we all know about those.
Then theres her, my way or no way attitude –
Amit you had better watch out, you know who will be wearing the trousers!
As for her cooking skills – Can cook but won't cook –
But when she does, it will be Kidney Beans and Sweet Corn Shaak – Sasuji (mother-in-law), I hope that's your favourite dish!
Finally, but certainly not the last, Loves her tracksuit bottoms and trainers
A prime example was this morning after the registry, couldn't wait to get out of her outfit, jumped into her tracksuit bottoms and went downstairs to greet the family, only to be sent up stairs to change into something more appropriate.
Putting the jokes aside, I know that no matter what I say Amit, you have found your MISS PERFECT and I know you will love Paru just the same – WELL YOU BETTER! Or you will have us girls to answer to!
Paru, you been a great a friend, a good person to go to when you need BLUNT AND STRAIGHT FORWARD advice, we know not to disagree because we are all scared of you!
Just some advice for you Amit…
If you're clever
You'll always have the last word
BUT, if you're very clever…
You won't use it!
Whenever you're wrong! Admit it. Whenever your right – shut up!
Paru's spending power doubles, yours doesn't exist!
The best way to remember your anniversary is to forget it just once!
Just remember a marriage is made in heaven, but the maintenance work is to be carried out here on earth!
Paru if you to place your hand flat on the table for me please…Right Amit, if you would like to place your hand directly on top of Paru's…Enjoying it? Well, make the most of it because it's the last time you'll have the upper hand!
Now it gives me great pleasure to invite you all to stand and raise your glasses in a toast…
To Amit and Parita,
To love, laughter and happily ever after!
From all us girls… CONGRATULATIONS!
