I just want to say how beautiful and radiant the bride looks tonight, and John you don't scrub up too badly either.
For those of you I haven't met yet, my name is Janine and I am one of Jenna's best friends and also known as Wifey – but will now be dealing with a very public divorce on fb.
Jenna and I first met over 10 years ago when I started working at a retail store called Priceline. I can recall on how sweet and understanding Jen was at the time – oh how times have changed.
Who here remembers the awesome parties Jenna used to throw in cherry brook? After a night of many many jello shots and dragging myself to work the next morning I knew that Jenna and I would be friends forever.
It was 5 years ago that I decided to pack my bags and follow Jenna to London. Some people may also call this stalking.
Having known Jenna for many many years I have a huge library of stories to tell you that will leave her embarrassed and humiliated, but out of respect for her on her big day I have decided NOT to tell them.
1) So I am not going to tell you about the time when Jenna after her usual Friday night drinks with workmates takes a tumble on the tube on her way home, stops off at KFC to get herself a KFC bucket and only realises that when she gets home she had been flashing her cleavage to the entire world for god knows how long. And this was just on one night.
2) And I am not going to tell you about the time when Jen ran into a closing tube door leaving black marks all over her face and clothes and not realising until she got to school.
3) And lastly I am not going to tell you of the time we organised a summer party at our shepherds bush flat and Jenna passed out at 6pm even before the guests started arriving leaving me to entertain her guests some of which I had never met.
Jen and John had known each other for years before they got together. it has taken John, was it 4 years to finally pluck up the courage to ask her out for a drink.
Back when Jen and I still lived together I would come home Monday evenings to find a massive box of mashed potato waiting for me – John definitely had found the way to get into my good books.
Watching them two grow has been amazing and I could tell John thought the world of Jen just by the way he looked at her, or by waking up at 3am to drive her to the airport or even driving 2 hours down to London just to surprise her on weekdays . Of course Jen felt the same way I have never seen her happier so thank you John for making our Girl a very happy one.
John here is some advice for you for the future:
– Never ever leave Jenna alone in new look
– She is always right
– Never leave the kitchen cupboard doors – it freaks her out.
Jenna, I am fortunate to have you in my life, you are the definition of a true friend, even if I do miss living with you there are a few things I will not miss like waking to the sound of Patsy Cline and I will definitely not miss the smell of bacon seeping through my bedroom door which not even a towel squished in-between the door cracks stopped it from entering my room.
Success in marriage is more than finding the right person – it is being the right person. I am proud to be here celebrating the marriage of these two special people, who are not only amazing in their own right, but are also the right people for each other.
Now, let's raise our glasses to Jenna and John.
Here's to love, laughter, and happily ever after. Cheers!
