First, I'd like to join everyone in thanking the people who've made this wonderful day possible – Chiara & Scottie of course and the (brides PARENTS last name) & (GROOM PARENTS last name) – for this fabulous celebration –
For those of you who don't know me – My name is Marissa and I am Chiara's childhood friend. 28 years of friendship, yes we met when we were 2 years old, I could go on for hours but promise I won't.
I knew at a very early age that Chiara & I would be in each other lives for a very very long time.
Together we shared our first experience of independence. We were allowed to walk to elementary school together without parents. We held each other little hands for safety and gained such a sense of independence and felt so responsible. We knew just being together would enable us to get to school safely or wherever we ventured out in the future. Its like we were each other's safety net.
I could remember times where Chiara would drive alone upstate to my college 4 ½ hours from (HOMETOWN) to be there for me and take me home when I needed her. That's just the thing w/ Chiara. You feel safe with her, almost like she is a guardian angel. She is caring, never selfish, and has unconditional love for family & friends.
Don't get me wrong – Chiara is also my crazy, wacky & adventurous friend. Just ask me later if you want to her some stories from her bachelorette party or her frannie lew days or even the time when she tried to cement a tree back together after she ran it down w/ her parents’ car. Well she did learn how to drive from her brother Vinny.
There is never a dull moment with her.
Chiara, I am fortunate to have you in my life, you are the definition of a true friend and because of you, I gained another beautiful friendship with your "husband" Scottie.
I remember when you guys 1st started hanging out. It wasn't easy to miss u guys. Scottie was the guy w/ the most booming system always blasting the new and upcoming songs.
At chiara's shower, I learned how Scottie got to know Chiara better. In HS science class Scottie daily "accidentally" dropped his pencil so Chiara would bend down & pick it up. And Scottie was hooked ever since.
As time went on their relationship matured. They overcame many obstacles in their young romance which only helped their love to grow stronger. 15 years old is a pretty young age to meet your lifelong love. This proves they were meant to be.
I can't imagine a couple more ready, more right for the blessing of marriage (well it has been 14 years!) I couldn't ever imagine a groom more perfect for Chiara. Thank you Scottie for bringing her such happiness.
And now if you would raise your glasses for a toast to the bride & groom, to Chiara & Scottie, may your lives together be long and may every day be filled with laughter. May your love be as endless as your wedding rings. Here's to a wonderful beginning & many babies. I love you both! Cheers/ Salud.
