Good Evening Everyone,

My name is Tihana Schmidt and on behalf of my parents, Ted and Mira, I am honored to say a few words to my brother Ivan and my new sister-in-law Maria.

I wish to thank you all for joining us this evening, Ivan and Maria, you are both to be commended on your planning and preparation for today's big event – it has been amazing. Wedding days are meant to be unforgettable and this one certainly will be. I for one will not forget how heart warming it was to see two wonderful people like Ivan and Maria making their vows to each other this afternoon. What a pleasure it is seeing them now, sharing the happiness of their special day with all of us.

AT this time I'd like to say a few words about my brother…… Let me share with you 3 of my happiest memories.

First, I am sure that I was extremely happy and excited when my baby brother was born at least that's what I've been told!!!!. As children we were best buddies &quotright Ivan&quot. Our mom taught us this great little song for times when we were not so close, remember MIR MIR DO NEBA!!!!! AS we grew older I enjoyed getting him into trouble, and was even happier to watch him get himself into even more trouble. Are there any telephone operators who worked in the early 80”s with us this evening? If so, I wish to take this opportunity to apologize for my brothers rude and obscene prank calls to you!

Secondly I was extremely happy the day Ivan got his first car. Being the kind sister that I am I would let Ivan use my car for his adventures with his buddies – never really knowing what condition it would be returned in to me the next day. I still have a hard time understanding how one little pot hole could cause all 4 tires to turn different directions. And what ever happened to the bolts that are meant to hold the front seat to the floor??? By the way groomsmen, Ivan always said it was all your fault!!

My most recent happiest memory was the day Ivan called me to tell me that he was going to ask Maria to be his wife, and he needed some help in making his proposal come to life. Watching my brother plan the proposal was amazing – he wanted everything just perfect for Maria! Ivan, you have grown up to be a wonderful man, and I have no doubt whatsoever that you will be a wonderful husband too!

I would like to take this opportunity to say a few words on behalf of my parents in welcoming Maria to our family. Maria, you have been an important part of our family for what seems like many years already. My daughters are so very lucky to have &quotauntie Maria&quot in their lives! I know that my parents could not be any happier for their son, and are especially proud to call you their daughter-in-law. It has been said that the greatest gift a parent can receive is seeing their child happy and I know that my parents are overjoyed to see you both radiating in happiness today!!!

Success in marriage is more than finding the right person – it is being the right person. I am proud to be here celebrating the marriage of these two special people, who are not only amazing in their own right, but are also the right people for each other. Chance has brought them together, and there couldn't be a more perfect match. We don't often see a pair better suited to one another that these two. In fact, the kind of love they have is infectious….so all you single people had better watch out!!!

Separately you are two special, remarkable people. But together you are complete. As you sit side by side through this roller coaster of life remember to scream from the peaks, hold hands through the dips, laugh through the loops and enjoy every twist and turn. The ride is much better when you share it together.

Coming together is the beginning keeping together is progress working together is success.
