Wedding Speeches

This was the speech I gave on December 20th 2002, went really well so thanks to hitched for making sure I had everybody and everything covered :

Hello hitched, Thought I'd send in my Bestman speech from 14th December 2002. It went down a storm, especially the bit about the brick. I could not have done this without such a helpfull website. Dave Kershaw

Please feel free to post my speech on your website. Without the help I got from reading other speeches posted I would never have been able to compile mine, so thought it only fair that I should reciprocate and maybe mine will help others. Rod

Thanks for the help guys... I had a week to put together a bestman speech. What I did was looked at a few examples that were posted on your site. Then, created a short but sweet speech that went very well. I organizied it a bit differently. I created "points" and just memorized those important points that gave the speech "flow" and structure. I did add a lot of freelancing as I went along at at "gametime." It was an Italian-American wedding so there was a lot of "respect" and Godfather bullshit that I had to throw in there. In any event, it went great and maybe someone else can use it.

This speech went over great thanks for all the help. its easy to see the parts I lifted from the site, though I had to Americanize a few of the jokes, once I got writing funny stories seemed to come along (though most I had to abandon because of content or they made the future wife look bad) and with a few jokes thrown in it was a success... this speech lasted at least 15 mins. there was alot of laugh breaks... the dj at the wedding said the CD of my speech would soon follow. I was very nervous before but so glad I did it afterwords... I had queue cards and I practiced alot... like many othe

This is the Best Man's speech I gave recently. Without the help of this site, I don't know where I would have started. For me it was particularly difficult speech to write as I had only known the groom for a couple of years and had no idea of his past. Also, to make things easier for me to read I printed it out and stuck it to some card which had been treated* to look like an old scroll, tied with a ribbon. *treated = Edges were torn and burnt, some holes were made near the edges and burnt, and finally stained with a strong coffee mixture.
