Please find my best man speech below for your website examples, from the wedding of Charlie and Debs, two of my oldest friends - Aug 16 2002. The speech went better than I ever imagined, the use of blown up photos added an interesting prop, plus gave me valuable pause time to compose myself. I hope you find this of use. For any grooms that are a bit nervous about making the speech, let me tell you that when the day comes the nerves just fall away. Everyone there is there for you, and once you've had a taste of the limelight at the ceremony, you'll feel totally cool about giving a speech. Believe me, I was very surprised (because I was really dreading the speech)! Start with a cheesy joke. Enjoy it, and good luck!

Hello there, I checked out your site b4 doing my speech 2 weeks ago and it was a great help. My advice to anyone is that as soon as you stand up and start talking you relax and think "this is easy". It was the same for me when I was best man a few years ago as I absolutely dread talking in front of large groups as I'm fairly quiet but everyone is on your side and it is easier than what you think.....so just enjoy it. One other tip though, and that is if you aren't any good at telling jokes then stay away from them. Just use stories and props if need be to have a laugh. Thanks Gr

Dear Hitched, Thank you so much for providing this site, and thanks to everyone for submitting their own speeches - i was so nevous before hand it's been a real life-saver. The speech went down a storm and when i got out a poem at the end (with a few nicked lines from another contributor - so thanks 267!) on the back of an A4 sized photo of the groom looking like a nutter, it brought the house down.
