Wedding Speeches

This Toast was given at a wedding on March 16, 2002 near Sacramento, California that was scheduled for our garden but moved indoors after we awoke to a heavy snowstorm and power outage. There is a reference to pictures. My wife and the husband's mother put together two large posterboards of family photo's of the bride and groom with various friends and family and activities as they were growing up. Many thanks for help during a daunting task. Top tip that worked for me. Make a joke early on that cannot fail (see winkle comment) then simply refer back to it throughout the speech - easy!

Thanks to your site for providing examples of the best man speech. although ultimately any speech has to be specific to the individual, it does open up the options. The speech went down very well indeed, and we all laughed. Best advice I recieved was not to drink too much before the performance. Also try and have a big lunch, as eating during the reception is impossible due to the nerves. thanks Jon Spencer
