Here is a speech that I embarrassed myself with in October of this year.

Thanks Hitched.co.uk, Your site was a life-saver!!!! I was really worried about giving a speech at my brother's wedding and was stuck short of ideas. Good luck to any future best men out there; my advice to you is PRACTICE, PRACTICE + PRACTICE! Not that I did that much, but what I did do helped me tremendously with getting the delivery right.....without it the best jokes will same lame. Cheers! Luke Parker

Dear Hitched.co.uk Below is a copy of the best man speech that I gave this weekend - 1st December 2001, which seemed to go down very well. I am grateful to you and your website for getting the creative juices flowing and especially for all the bits that I could cut and paste!! I reckon that if a best man can recite the speech from memory whilst showering in the week before the wedding you are nearly ready. A discreet printout however, remained a cosy safety net.

Hi I used your site and found its content to be quite excellent in helping me to deliver a well recieved speech.

Thank you so much for having a great site, especially when it comes to wedding speeches. As soon as I spotted these I looked no further. This is the second time I have been married, but this by no means makes it any easier when you have to put your feelings down on paper, and then deliver it to 100 people. I found your sample speeches very helpful, and must admit I stole a few good lines from some of them. I delivered this Best Mans speech on November 10th 2001. It went down a storm, particularly the "foot and mouth" joke. This website was an invaluable aid to adding some decent content to my speech - many thanks to all contributors. My advice to budding best men is practice, practice and then practice again. You'll really reap the benefits come that time when you stand to give your speech !!

Hi, Just thought I'd send you my speech in case it's any use to anyone (seemed to go down well enough on the day)... Also, as a note to anyone who's nervous... I was a nervous wreck worrying about giving a speech but found that when I woke up on the morning of the wedding I wasn't nervous about anything anymore and was just looking forward to the whole day - don't be too worried about the speech, the whole audience is on your side.
