Please find attached my best man speech. I took the format from some of the speeches posted on this site, which was a great help. I thought the queen mother joke and the grooms hand on the brides hand gag would be a little 'cheesy' - but they went down really well. hope my speech is of use to someone regards George Buchanan

Dear Hitched Please find attached my speech .Your site was a terrific help .I mixed up 'borrowed' jokes with my own observations and funnies .The results were superb . I received congratulations all night ( and the next day) from people of all ages . It was a lovely feeling hearing everyone laugh their socks off. Dear Hitched, I attach a copy of the speech I gave as Best Man at my brother's wedding on 25th August 2001. I used your site for inspiration and it helped me tremendously. The speech itself lasted for around 12 minutes and I reduced two grown men to tears (thankfully becaused they found it emotional rather than boring!), and it went down really well. Best Man's Note: This speech was prepared to the n'th degree. One of my aims was to play a game of bingo with the guests and I collaborated with the hotel staff so that they assisted me by (1) distributing to each table an envelope containing a bingo card for each guest and a few pencils; and (2) producing from an ante-room a bingo "machine".

Attached is a copy of my speech that I delivered on Aug 17 at my mates wedding. I would like to thank you and all the contributors to your site for the help. This is an invaluable service which I would recommend to anyone who has the dubious honour of being the Best Man. For anyone reading these notes may I suggest that you practice your speech until you are sick of it ( In the end I could not sleep without running thru the speech time after time ).
