Dear Hitched, I didn't know if you wanted to show mine but I'm happy to send it anyway. It was easy to present and had them all in stiches!! Many thanks to hitched for helping me to plan my speech. I was bought drinks all night long, and people told me it was the best they had ever heard! Good luck to all best men out there!!!

Dear Hitched, Please find enclosed one best mans speech delivered on May19th with great success. It wouldn't have been possible without your help - it was really tough coming up with stories suitable for the Grandparents and the diferent structures helped tremendously. Hello - I gave my speech on Sat 19th May and it went down an absolute storm. People were in tears of laughter and were queuing to congratulate me. I'm just glad I didnt let my brother down. This site is excellent and thanks to those people who's jokes I borrowed. I was quite nervous and had 2 beers before speaking. If I did it again I wouldn't drink anything as it made me feel worse. Hi there I gave this speech on Friday 18th May and was nervous beforehand, however a few glasses of wine and and I was raring to go! I could not have done it without you site, and I hope my speech can help someone else in this situation. My advice - don't panic at all, have a few beers beforehand and enjoy it. The buzz I got from everyone congtrratulating me afterwards was superb. Have your speech in full just in case you forget something, but the crowd are on your side. I can't wait to do it again...! Dear Hitched One of the most nerve-wracking but rewarding days of my life, the two best pieces I received were: 1. Get in the first joke as early as possible - a massive relief when you hear the first laughs. 2. For God's sake write it more than a day in advance, and practice it as much as possible. You'll be so busy on the day itself that before you know it you're standing up and thanking the bridesmaids, and then it's your turn... Hope this is of some use, and best of luck. -Giles Pocklington

Dear Hitched, Thanks for the advice and help.I wasn't as nervous as I expected but possibly the vat of champagne helped in that regard.I pinched bits and bobs but tried to keep it personal by putting as much of my own drivel in as possible and get as many cheap laughs as I could. Try to keep in mind that drunken people will (and usually want to) laugh at anything and this speech is the proof.It went down a storm and I didn't buy a drink all night.Good luck!. Martin McCone
