Dear Hitched.co.uk I thought I should write and thank you for your brilliant website. I've sent you the speech I just delivered although, I don't know if it's worth showing since most of it is from your site anyway. I must say your site provided a huge amount of information for me and it took a lot of the stress out of writing my Best Man's Speech, which by the way was VERY well received. It felt as though everyone came over to applaud me on it! Fantastic for someone not used to public speaking. Thanks again! Best regards Neil Young

Herewith copy of my Best Man's speech at my brother's wedding. I hired a video and large screen, and asked a friend to put some photographs on video for me to play. after the videoed photographs, there was a short sketch on the video which my brother had recorded during the summer holidays from university.

Dear Hitched I delivered this speech on Saturday 31st July 1999. I cannot thank the authors of the other speeches on your site enough. I pinched a lot of material from this site and I have to say I would have been lost without it and them. I was exceptionally nervous and I cannot (although it will be of no help) reassure other people that there really isn't anything to worry about. Everybody was very kind and I don't think I bought a drink for the rest of the day. Thanks to everyone again!!!

Dear Hitched May I take this opportunity to thank you for an excellent site. I had to deliver my speech on 10th July 1999 and was somewhat struggling to write it until I found your site. I printed off virtually every page of the site including the jokes etc, and then highlighted anything I liked. I then started to write and where necessary amended the jokes to suit the people involved. I received many compliments after, the only people who were not impressed were the suit hire people as they had to remove the brown stains from my trousers! Many thanks Simon Watts

This is the speech I gave as Best Man at my mate Tim's wedding on Saturday the 3rd July. I found hitched to be invaluable, as you'll notice when you read it! Thanks to all at Hitched for getting me through the best mans job. They laughed and laughed at this speech which was compiled through reading through all the other speeches. Feel free to do what you want with it. Trouble is I am getting married myself in three weeks so I am back at your site going through the grooms speeches.....

Dear Hitched Thank you for having such a tremendous free site to help "virgin" best men write their speeches. My speech is copied from alot of the others and went down a treat. The made up messages went down the best, particularly the one that said "sorry I can't be there, but I wasn't invited!". Dear Hitched. Your web site was a HUGE help with my best man's speech at my best friends wedding in June 1999. All the help and advice was so true. The speech went down far better than I expected and after I cracked the first joked I actually really enjoyed it. I was bought whiskies galore by people in the evening who were congratulating and thanking me!!! The best advice I can give is to write it out exactly as you want it be on paper, and rehearse it at least 40 times before the big day. Don't take just notes in with you, take the full speech. This site proved invaluable to my quest to compose and perform a good speech. It didn't stop the nerves I felt prior to the speech but once I got up there I delivered a confident and amusing speech which went down very well. Thanks go to this invaluable site.

Dear Hitched, Thanks a million for your site. It completely saved my life but I must apologise for blatantly hacking one liners from the example speeches on the site. You have been an immense help and thanks to you and the contributors. The speech went down a storm. Bad points, I was nervous as anything but soon goes once you're up there in front of 150 people.
