Wedding Speeches

This is my best mans speech, which I tried to keep as personal as I could, as I think it means more if it's original stories that no one has heard before.  Instead of one liners that have been heard before.  But each to their own.

Fifth and last speech, I've edited to be closer to what I said as I made changes on the fly.

thank you to this website as i got some very good ideas from here and learnt what not to say. fortunately the speech went down very well. 

I was giving my sister away as our Father died quite a few years ago. 

I was extremely nervous making the speech and the delivery probably left a little to be desired. But it was clear from the words how proud I was and how much I cared, which is 99% of the battle.

This site was such a great help for me when planning out my speech.  Being an American, I was not used to the basic structure going into it as we don't really have the same traditions in the order and make up of each speech (especially the grooms speech) and seeing so many great examples was invaluable.  Thanks so much and hope my addition helps as well.   Matt

This website and the examples on it really helped me structure my father of the bride speech. Wasn't sure how much to write or how long to speak but I managed to memorise this speech and deliverd it in around 7 minutes. It went down very well and was about the right length for our wedding.
