Wedding Speeches

When Bill was my Best Man, he opened his speech with 'For those of you that don't know me, my name is Bill and I am Robin's lighter, sorry, little brother'. As I still weigh more than my little brother, I was able to reference this.               Possibly the biggest laugh came from the nudist beach joke, although I am waiting to see the video back, as there were plenty of laughs throughout. It appears that everyone enjoyed it, with lots of people complementing the speech afterwards.

Well here is a copy of my speech which seemed to get a lot of laughs. I timed it at about 10 minutes but it might have been longer as i had to wait after each bout of laughter for them all to calm down. Thoroughly enjoyed giving it after i had started and got over my nerves.

The custom of having the groom's deliver a speech is not as popular in the US. I enjoyed the challenge, and it appeared from the reception the speech received, that our guests did too.

Thank you John for those kind words, it was certainly a lot less controversial and painful than I thought it would be.       I’d just like to say, and I’m sure you’ll all agree how stunning my new wife Amanda looks today.
