Despite being very nervous before I stood up my speech went down a treat and once I started it just flowed! Everyone enjoyed the speech and many people told me it struck the right balance between humerous and serious without over doing it.
My best advice to any would-be-groom would be to prepare your speech well in advance then practice, practice and re-practice! On the day take it slow and steady, have a glass of water on standby, don't rush your words and try not to rely on your notes too much (if you've practiced and know what is coming you won't be looking at your notes and consequentl
