Bride's father speech.

I am a sci-fi fantasy fan and as such, despite the original disclaimer, delighted in hiding many references in my speech.  How many can you find? There's Brazil, Dr Who, Dune, B5 and lots more tucked in there. The gift I referred to was a couple of 'Lordships' purchased from Sealand for my son and best man.        

Reading previous speeches posted here helped me immensely and gave me a great steer on how my speech should be delivered. My only advice to any Father reading out his speech is take your time and don't rush through your reading of the speech, as you want to do your daughter proud. It feels hard to think you can enjoy the speech but if you can the delivery will come out so much better, and when you reflect on the wedding in the coming days you will be very happy with your efforts I'm sure!

A speech delivered by joint best men. Utilising a TV screen with accompanying PowerPoint Presentation & a music player. Other props included a ridiculously large pile of paper for each of us at the beginning of the speech, and a genuine ten pound note....

I actually sat down to a standing ovation and received many handshakes at the night reception from people who had not attended the Afternoon Reception but had heard second hand from friends who had heard the original speech. Unfortunately I still was not addressed by anyone as What you having to drink Neil.
