Wedding Speeches

Hi, and thank you for your excellent site - i found it very helpful in making my best mans speech in november and i am happy for you to post my speech on the site to help others who might be simillarly struggling. The best advice i got was from the grooms brother over a couple of beers on the night before the wedding - "don't get stressed and let it ruin your day" - i took this to heart and it made a big difference. The audience seemed to genuinely enjoy my speech, i was amazed how well it went. I provoked both laughter and tears - thankfully in the right places ! thanks again

Your site was tremendously helpful in preparing for last weeks speech so please find a copy attached. It is not the shortest speech in the world (!) but the occasion demanded it and it went down really well, with plenty of laughs and some moist eyes. It's really important to strike a balance between humour and sincerity and to personalise it as much as possible. And practise, practise, practise....

Here's a speech i wrote for my friends wedding in 2004, I was nervous as hell, I had never spoken in front of anyone before or written a speech, but it went down unbelievably well, although the rohipnol comment was probably ill advised. The idea was to dissect the groom's personality, and to rebuild it at the end.........if there's time.
