Aldwark Manor is a historic wedding venue located in York, England. This estate was commissioned by Lord Walsingham in 1865 as a wedding present for his eldest daughter and has been since transformed into an elegant retreat. The luxurious bedrooms, onsite restaurants, and stunning event spaces are sure to make for a one-of-a-kind wedding weekend.

Facilities and Capacity

In 2019 this beautiful venue was brought into private ownership for the first time in 25 years and a loving, sympathetic and crafted restoration commenced. The care and attention to Aldwark Manor'sregeneration are immediately visible as you emerge from the country lanes to be greeted by impressive and sympathetically restored stone columns. From there, you can catch your first glimpse of the mellow, red-brick hotel set within an impressive 210 acres, encompassing an 18 hole golf course. The grounds are populated with hundreds of mature trees, signalling the commencement of your wedding journey. The fountain cascades as you arrive at the oak doors and enter through a marbled reception area with a five-metre chandelier dropping from the raised ceiling. You will have three rooms to choose from for your ceremony and/or wedding breakfast. The Walsingham can host Up to 100 guests for your wedding breakfast, and offers air conditioning, elaborate gold details, floor-to-ceiling windows draped in silk, glittering chandeliers, and private access into the Walsingham Garden. The Barnes Wallis boasts mirrored walls to reflect the rolling lawns, views across the river and a roaring fire for those winter ceremonies with up to 70 guests. Ladybower has a self-contained bar area, an outdoor terrace onto the grounds, and statement lighting to match all moods and occasions. Up to 160 guests can celebrate with you at your wedding breakfast and dance the night away with you.

Multiple package options are available to suit each soon-to-be-wed's needs and wants. The staff have also created a “brides photo step” to take advantage of the wonderful backdrop and the fountain, hotel and gardens all light up in an array of colours to match your theme!
