The Alma Lodge Hotel & Restaurant, based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, is a historic and captivating venue for wedding celebrations. Since the 19th century, the Hotel has played an important role in the local community. While the hotel has evolved throughout the years, some of its original features remain to this day, such as the wood-panelled lobby and the open fire that brings warmth and charm to the hotel. The weddings suites have all been recently refurbished in 2024. We also have plenty of onsite complimentary parking and a variety of accommodation to suit your guests needs.
Facilities and Capacity
The Alma Lodge Hotel & Restaurant can host weddings all year round with its three beautiful suites, which can accommodate events of different sizes. Full of character, The Congress Suite features high bay windows, letting natural light shine through. It is the ideal location to tie the knot surrounded by loved ones as it is licensed to host civil ceremonies. The Regis Suite can accommodate 250 guests but can be adapted for smaller celebrations. It has been recently refurbished and features plenty of natural lighting, its own bar and lounge area. It also has an enclosed courtyard garden, providing a stunning backdrop for wedding day photographs. For a more intimate occasion, Henderson’s Suite allows up to 80 guests, complemented by its warm and romantic lighting.
We also have a beautiful bridal changing room for the bridal party to get ready in on the day of the wedding or for various outfit changes that may take place throughout the day.
In terms of photographs there are plenty of internal and external areas perfect for pictures including our new starlight backdrop which couples and guests love.

We recognise that every couple and every enquiry is unique. We therefore do not have set packages so we can adapt our offering and quote to suit your enquiry. Alma Lodge was a blessing!
Our original venue had issues which meant cancelling 5 weeks before which was immensely stressful but the Alma Lodge were able to accommodate us at such short notice.
The venue was amazing and the food was incredible. The hotel gave a complimentary room not only the night of, but also the night before, plus many of our guests were also able to stay.
All of our guests complimented the venue itself, the food and the staff couldn't do enough for us.
The bridal suite was perfect for the bride, and all the bridesmaids giving them somewhere secluded to prepare for the day. All the staff were incredibly helpful leading up to the wedding, the night prior when we were decorating and the day of the wedding and were there for everything we needed. They took care of everything throughout and were so kind in their comments to myself, my wife, family and guests. I would 100% recommend the Alma Lodge to anyone wanting to hold an event or staying there. Thank you so much to all the staff, you helped give us the wedding of our dreams 😊
