We stumbled across the venue last summer and as soon as we saw it and met with Simon, the owner, we knew it was the perfect venue for us. We had totally free reign over the styling of the marquee, and were given the week leading up to the wedding to decorate it at our leisure. The cafe is wonderful and quirky, and the field and grounds surrounding the café and marquee are huge and provided a lovely backdrop for photos. Simon was fab through the planning. Every email was responded to quickly and thoroughly, and we really felt we got a personal touch by dealing directly with him throughout the process. Food-wise, we had a hog-roast provided by the venue as our main meal, along with some really lovely sides, and salads. For evening food, we had a ploughman’s spread which included pate and cured meats. Both meals were delicious and went down so well with our guests, and the venue was very accommodating of dietary requirements. This truly is the most incredible wedding venue. We have had many guests saying how wonderful it was, and because of its uniqueness we are confident that our guests will remember the day for years to come. Our wedding day was beyond our wildest dreams, a month on and we are still buzzing from how much fun we had. We really put a lot of that down to the venue – it is definitely a venue that not only allows, but encourages you to have fun with your wedding day. If you are looking for a venue which really lets you put your own stamp on your wedding day whilst certainly not breaking the bank, we would wholeheartedly recommend the Departure Lounge. We hired the barn for our wedding breakfast, 80 guests, and evening do for 120 guests. We had a country wedding which this venue suits perfectly, we also had lots of children as guests, having outside space and a bouncy castle proved to be invaluable! We had space outside to put up a gazebo, a hog roast and giant garden games without feeling at all cramped! The character of the barn meant we could decorate the inside with homemade bunting, candles (battery ones) fairy lights and flowers, creating a beautiful setting and a wonderful atmosphere, the views outside the doors are also incredible and the whole setting was a massive talking point for our guests! Having access to the gardens for our photos also meant that our photographer captured some stunning shots. Josh and the rest of the team were incredibly helpful....especially when a very special guest turned up to surprise us on the day! I would 100% recommended this venue.

Recently got married at Froyle Park. The venue was great and most of the staff were extremely helpful. Particularly a young lady called Georgina. I would recommend this venue to any bride. They also have great list of recommended suppliers such as Favours, a Lavender Hill and Forever cakes.

Following Emily and Charlie's wedding reception at Blacknest on Saturday 10 August I wanted to thank you and your team for helping to make the day a success. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were wowed by the venue. Compliments to the chef, the food was absolutely amazing, I only wish I'd saved a bit more room for the buffet!! Thank you for the super glue when I knocked the cake topper off the cake and decapitated the bride and groom! Emily and Charlie had some wonderful photos taken and I know that everyone who attended would not hesitate to recommend Blacknest as a top-class wedding reception venue.
