Anchor Barrow Campsite is a rustic wedding venue located in Perranporth, in England's Cornwall region. This stunning hilltop location has the Cornish landscape as a backdrop, setting the stage for breathtaking wedding photos. From its gorgeous barn to the ceremony pergola overlooking rolling hills, you and your guests will swoon at each one-of-a-kind setting. The venue offers space for up to 100 tents, making it an ideal location for weekend-long celebrations.
Facilities and Capacity
Anchor Barrow Campsite is an exclusive romantic rural setting suitable for ceremonies and receptions with between 70 and 100 guests. The site is set upon 16 beautiful acres for you to utilise as you wish. They welcome you to celebrate each milestone of your day in one place and offer two licensed ceremony spots, including their rustic barn. Outside, you'll find a wooden pergola, ideal for a ceremony surrounded by sweeping countryside views. After saying 'I do,' you and your loved ones can pop a bottle of bubbly and enjoy a luxurious feast in the barn. This enchanting space is made even more dreamy by candlelight and boasts a blank canvas design. Upon arrival, you can completely transform it to match your style. If you're planning a weekend-long camping experience, the venue's team can connect you with local suppliers of bell tents, pods, and vans.
Cuisine
If you appreciate great food with spectacular views, you'll love the mouth-watering dishes prepared by head chef Mikey. This experienced culinary expert has worked at both local pubs and high-end establishments offering rosette fine dining. He is passionate about using locally sourced, seasonal, quality produce. You'll have the option to choose buffets or plated dinners as well as grazing boards, sharing feasts, hog roasts, and BBQs. To wash it all down, the on-site Cornish-stocked Barrow Bar will keep drinks flowing all night long. The venues works alongside local distilleries and breweries to offer the best spirits, draught beers, and ciders. They also suggest signature cocktails to add a touch of luxury to the occasion.

The perfect wedding venue
In the months leading up to the wedding, Levi and her team were so helpful in planning out the day, answering our questions, and organising things for us. We live about a three hour drive from the venue (we grew up and have family in Cornwall, but moved away) which you’d think would make things more stressful - despite that we felt totally confident and prepared. The fact that you also get the venue a few days before and after your actual wedding day is also amazing and eliminates so much of the stress of setting up and packing down.
Then onto the day itself, and it really couldn’t have been more perfect and the venue itself is such a big component of that. The outside space is an incredible setting for a ceremony and reception - gorgeous views, plenty of seating, and a patio and bar area that’s also all under cover from a canopy should the weather not be the nicest. Inside the barn is also great - it’s really roomy and doesn’t require much decoration to become a really beautiful space. The long bench tables are a bit different to the smaller round tables you typically get in wedding venues, but to be honest we definitely preferred them - decorating them was super easy and for the guests they were probably even more sociable as round ones. For the evening, these get pushed back to make room for a dancefloor. As well as being able to accommodate live music, Anchor Barrow provides a full silent disco setup so that you can keep the party going late. This was really fun, and if it’s something you want to use I definitely recommend keeping it a secret from your guests as we did - it was a really exciting surprise for them just as they thought the day was coming to a close.
However, while there are lots of stunning venues around, it means nothing if the service and the quality of food and drink misses the mark. You will have absolutely no danger of that at Anchor Barrow. Levi and her crew were so attentive and friendly and didn’t put a foot wrong the entire day.
For welcome drinks we had two different types of cocktails made up for everyone, plus non-alcoholic options. The canapes were also absolutely delicious and there was more than enough to go around. For the wedding breakfast, there were ample amounts of toasting bubbles and table wine, and the food itself was exquisite - our guests were absolutely raving about the food. Anchor Barrow offers lots of different food packages, and we went for the barbecue option, where we got loads of choices for meats, vegetarian and vegan options, sides, and desserts. There was also an incredible evening buffet and they even lit some fire pits outside and provided marshmallows for toasting! They were also very accommodating of dietary requirements of which we had a fair few among our guests.
This really is the perfect wedding venue and we can’t thank Levi, Tony, Rachel, and the rest of the staff enough for making our day so special and memorable!
Our wedding of dreams!
We stumbled across the Anchor Barrow campsite when attending a gig in Perranporth in May and a few weeks later we had booked our wedding for exactly 3 months time. We knew within minutes that this was our wedding venue and had the best feelings about it from day one! From start to finish Levi, Tony, Rachel and the rest of the Anchor Barrow team were a dream to work with. Nothing was too much trouble and you could tell that they cared about our special day as much as we did! The staff felt more like friends after getting to know them over the three months of planning - they were always smiling and going out of their way to make it the best day ever! Couldn’t thank them enough! If the stunning setting doesn’t sell you then the staff definitely will!
The food was incredible! We had a roast on the wedding day and a bbq on the Sunday! The portion sizes were huge and the quality of food was the best! The staff went out of their way to cater for everyone and all of our guests left feeling very happy and very full!
Our guests absolutely loved the venue, food and staff! Lots of them commented on how it was the best wedding they had ever been to and that goes to show how amazing the venue is! They couldn’t believe that we were their first booked wedding, you would have thought that this venue had been going for decades with the attention to detail and organisation that they had!
The fun and food was spread over a whole weekend of celebrations and I couldn’t pick a favourite day! I had never heard of a weekend wedding before and I am so glad that we decided to do this! It meant that we could do everything that we wanted without having to cram it into one day! We were even allowed a few days before and after the wedding weekend to set up and pack down - this was a game changer and meant that we could spend even more time with our friends and family! Most of our guests camped at the site and it was so special to have all of our families and friends in one place! It allowed people to travel from all over the country to be with us which made it a lot easier - especially with the wedding being so last minute!
The day ran so smoothly, it was perfection! Even when we were running slightly behind the staff sorted everything out for us and meant that we had absolutely no stress on the day! There were so many personal and special touches throughout the weekend that you wouldn’t get at other venues!
We wish we could relive the weekend all over again and we can’t wait to come back as soon as Anchor Barrow open back up for camping! The memories we made at Anchor Barrow are like nothing else and we will be forever grateful! We couldn’t say enough nice things about the venue and the lovely people who run it! Anyone who comes across this wedding venue is guaranteed to have the best wedding day/ weekend ever!

We had the wedding breakfast, speeches, band and dancing in the barn which looked amazing and helped create a lovely, laid-back and warm atmosphere for everyone.
Overall, an amazing venue and one we would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed, fun wedding with incredible views and an amazing team on hand to help with the day!
