Traditional Winter Weddings and Year-Round Intimate Elopements

Welcome to Ardtornish; a place where love meets landscape.

Ardtornish House sits at the head of Loch Aline on the remote peninsula of Morvern, in the West Highlands. The historic 19th Century mansion was once a much-loved home and now offers guests a home away from home for holidays and events. Surrounded by gardens, woodland and rugged highland terrain, the house is perfectly remote and easily accessible.

Ardtornish House is the real deal when it comes to historic properties. The house retains many original fittings, fixtures, textiles and wallpapers. You will find a venue where faded-grandeur meets modern comfort and guests are truly taken back to the times of Downton Abbey.

Choosing Ardtornish for your wedding means that you will have a bespoke experience, from start to finish. We are primarily a self-catering venue, not a wedding factory - as such, our main concern is ensuring you have the experience that you envisaged.

Our traditional wedding package offers guests exclusive use of Ardtornish House for 3 nights - sleeping 46 people. We also have eight cosy cottages, bringing the total number of bed spaces to 106 and meaning we can accommodate more guests than most.

Since 2024, Ardtornish is also offered as an elopement destination and we have put a package together to provide the essentials for a day that can be tailored to suit your wishes, with as much or as little involvement from our side as you care for.

Sitting in 28,000 acres of rugged mountain, woodland, shoreline, farmland, river banks and gardens, there is no shortage of peaceful and photogenic locations for small, intimate ceremonies and stunning photo opportunities.

Spaces

The Great Hall is the usual choice for couples' wanting to hold an indoor wedding reception and can comfortably sit 80 guests for a formal meal, accommodating a further 40 people for evening entertainment. Couples' can also make use of the authentic Drawing Room, Library and airy South Wing Landing as further reception rooms.
