We couldn't have been happier to have tied the knot at Ashton Lodge and our wedding day was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Our guests all remarked on how beautiful the venue is and how good the food is (especially the evening pizzas!). Thank you particularly to Mia who helped us with all our planning and Emma who was the perfect wedding coordinator on the day. Her attention to detail was unmatched and we didn't want for anything on the day; it was all so seamless. Thank you so much to everyone for everything!

Wow I honestly don’t know where to start!
From the moment we first ever stepped foot into Ashton Lodge we knew this was the place we wanted to get married
The most stunning venue from the very moment you drive up it’s winding driveway
The large garden surrounded by countryside makes you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere however its location is really moments away from civilisation and so easy to find. So many beautiful spots throughout the grounds for photos (we are still awaiting for our professional photos to come back but are so excited to see them)
The country house oozes in class with a modern twist. The decor is beautiful and we personally didn’t feel the need to really add much to it other than some personal touches. We used Ashton Lodges own centre pieces for the tables which were beautiful.
We personally wanted a venue that had everything we needed in one place and Ashton Lodge certainly ticked all those boxes;
The dressing room was calming and a perfect space for myself and my bridal party to relax and enjoy getting ready on the morning together. I would definitely recommend the breakfast platter, the fresh pastries and fruit was a lovely touch.
It’s stunning ceremony room is so bright and fresh
The lounge bar area is cozy but ample size
The marquee is airy and spacious but still allows for a more intimate feel
All the bedrooms are spacious each with their own bathroom making guests stay very comfortable
The food was just out of this world, all our guests raved about how fresh, delicious and generous the portions were!
And finally the staff… Karen looked after us on the final planning of our wedding and also on our big day and she went above and beyond to ensure that everything went the way we had wanted, being attentive to us as bride and groom ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the day. All the waiting staff and bar staff were extremely welcoming and friendly throughout the day and night.
Breakfast the next morning was also delicious and all of our decor etc was tidily packed and ready for us to take away.
We honestly would recommend Ashton Lodge to absolutely anyone looking for a perfect wedding venue. We had the most relaxed and memorable day that us and our guests just can’t stop talking about!

This was the first venue we saw, and after looking at 6 others, it was by far the nicest. As a budget conscious couple, although this venue was not the cheapest we looked at, you definitely get what you pay for. The venue is also exclusive use, so you really feel like you're getting the staff's full attention, and your day won't be intruded upon by other hotel guests. On their website they have a calculator where you can get a good idea of what your day will cost (bearing in mind food prices may increase slightly), which we highly valued!

Our day-of coordinator Mia was excellent, and she was also the one we met with in our planning meetings. She was very professional, thought of everything, and guided us through the day expertly, making sure we never needed to worry about anything. We also deferred to her experienced opinion in planning when it came down to details we didn't have an opinion on (such as what beer to serve as neither of us drink it!) which was very helpful. The team has done a lot of weddings, and you can really tell they know what they're doing. The venue itself was gorgeous, with lovely countryside views (lots of beautiful locations for couple's photos) while still being relatively easy to reach.

The food was excellent. The groom wishes to emphasise: not just good from a "mass-catered" standard, but to a restaurant standard, impressive when serving 80 people! We had the relaxed menu, and our guests loved the fun interactive element of carving the meat themselves at the table (chefs' hats provided by the venue :D). We also had 3 canapes which they made sure we would be able to have on the day, and pizza from their outdoor pizza oven in the evening which they also put in our room. We went with the house drinks package, which provided plenty of wine and the bride really enjoyed the prosecco. The bar also had reasonable prices, and friendly staff. We also went for the fire pit and s'mores which went down well with our guests (and particularly the groom).

The few gripes we had were that there's no lift, so guests who are staying with mobility issues might have difficulty reaching their room, especially as there are none on the ground floor. There's also an extra cost if you want to have your wedding outside, which can then be moved inside on the day by the registrar (that's true at any venue though), and you would also have to hire your own furniture if you were having an outdoor wedding. Finally, there a couple of niggles in the planning stages, such as limited flexibility on meeting times, and overly detailed information requirements about guests with dietary requirements. However, none of these issues overshadowed a truly incredible day.

Overall we felt very well looked after, and they were really focussed on making sure that we and our guests had a wonderful day. We would absolutely recommend them in the future.

Ashton Lodge Country House was the most amazing venue for our wedding day on 30th September 2023. The communication from the beginning was great, the planning meetings with Claire and Mia were so helpful for getting an idea of how the day would run; and the tasting evening was a great chance to taste some of the food we could pick from. On the day itself everything ran so smoothly and a big thanks has to go to Mia for making that happen, she made sure everything ran on time, that we had drinks and food when we needed them, she was so attentive and helpful in every aspect of the day. If you are looking for a lovely countryside wedding venue with lots of space, great guest accommodation (breakfast included), we couldn’t recommend Ashton Lodge Country House enough

Amazing Wedding Venue!
We decided to go with Ashton Lodge as our wedding venue, and we’re so glad we did! We made our booking after attending several open days. The venue itself is gorgeous, a very stylish backdrop for a wedding with lots of indoor space and outdoor gardens to spread out in across the day, especially on a sunny June afternoon. The exclusive use really helps to keep the day intimate.
After making our booking we were able to keep in touch constantly, with Claire & the planning team emailing to answer any little queries we had. We were invited to several planning meetings to go through things together and shape our ideas – even when the bride had to attend via video call, they were incredibly helpful to make sure she remained included and up to speed. The team were also very accommodating to our ideas – we included flower dudes, bubble blowing and axe throwing entertainment for our guests, which went down a treat . We were further invited to a food tasting evening to help us get an idea of what we wanted to serve on the day, which was a lovely extra touch.
On the day itself everything ran smoothly, it was perfect! We were able to drop in the day before to help set up a few decorations, which saved a lot of stress on the day itself. The bride and her bridesmaids were able to get ready from 9am in the dressing room. Claire and the wedding team were on hand throughout to help with set-up and arrivals, helped to direct our guests and get them comfortable. We had around seventy guests on the day which Ashton lodge suited perfectly, the ceremony room was full but not overcrowded, and the marque similarly felt full but still had plenty of space for our guests to move around in during the wedding breakfast. The onsite accommodation was incredibly useful, each of the rooms was well-furnished and comfortable, and allowed some of our guests to rest through the day when they needed to.
All the food across the day was amazing – we opted for the redwood meat platters for the wedding breakfast and pizzas for the evening. The portion sizes were perfect and the taste amazing; we had lots of good feedback from our guests. Service throughout the day was spot on – the staff even came to myself and the bride in the evening to bring us our own pizzas, which was a lovely extra touch.
Many thanks go to our evening host Sam, who was super friendly and helpful throughout the day, he was a massive hit with all our guests and was able to help with anything we needed on the day; and to our event manager Claire, who went above and beyond on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly – checking in with us constantly, liaising with our suppliers so they were able to setup correctly, even little details like helping guests with their buttonholes, and flicking the brides train to make it flow right as she walked down the aisle.

WOW what a venue I honestly can’t say enough about this venue and the staff everything from the moment we booked to the morning after was amazing, Mia was incredible she made me feel so calm on the day and really helped me to chill out always making sure we’d eaten and had a drink I can’t say thank you enough! Ashton lodge is absolutely stunning it’s so beautiful I wish I could relive the whole day again 🥰 Thank you so much from the new Mr and Mrs Trevitt we loved every second of our day.

We got married at Ashton Lodge on the 18th June 2022. From our first virtual tour we loved the venue and knew it was perfect for us. We wanted a fun, romantic, informal relaxed day and that is exactly what we got. All the staff are amazing, so helpful and reassuring, they made sure everything ran smoothly from our first meeting to the day after our wedding. We had a very sudden unexpected family bereavement 3 months before and they were so understanding and didn’t rush us, we were very greatful for their understanding and compassion at a very difficult time. The house and grounds are beautiful and the food was amazing, we couldn’t have asked for anything else. Alot of our guests have commented it’s the best wedding they’ve been to which is a testament to the hard work of all the team at Ashton Lodge. We thank you all for a day to remember and would definitely recommend anyone get married at this venue.

From viewing the venue to the big day Ashton lodge we’re fantastic. All the staff were helpful especially Claire who met with us and Mia who ran our day. They both went above and beyond. The food was delicious and our guests commented on how much they enjoyed their food and the service. We can’t recommend ashton lodge enough. We had the best day ever!

Ashton Lodge is such a stunning venue and we fell in love the second we saw it. We had so many guests commenting about how beautiful it was on the day too. The weather had always been a worry but the inside is just as lovely as the outside so we felt reassured that we’d get beautiful photographs come rain or shine.

The whole process was so straight forward and Karen was a real pleasure to deal with. All of our questions were answered so quickly and she was so accommodating. Excellent communication from start to finish.

As for the day itself, everything ran so smoothly! I loved getting ready in the bridal preparation room (which is so unique) with all of my girls. The ceremony room is gorgeous and I felt like a princess walking down the aisle.

The canapés and the wedding breakfast were of such a high standard, we couldn’t fault anything and our guests were also impressed. The service was also brilliant!

Our nights stay couldn’t have been better either. Beautiful rooms and delicious breakfast! We honestly felt like they couldn’t do enough for us.

Overall, we are so so happy we chose Ashton Lodge for our day and we’d recommend it to anyone and everyone.

The service we have received from Ashton Lodge has been brilliant, from initial booking to our wedding day. The team have been fantastic, and the service we received on the day is impossible to fault. Staff were very attentive and the whole day ran seamlessly.
We had so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the venue was, and how amazing the food was. Our guests with dietary requirements were particularly impressed how well they were catered for. It was an amazing day, and from the feedback we've had from our guests they all enjoyed it just as much as we did!

Ashton Lodge's grounds and interior are just stunning. Even if the weather isn't on your side, there are plenty of areas for lovely photos.

Our English Pointer was ring bearer and Ashton Lodge welcomed him so wonderfully.

We had the best day at Ashton Lodge. The staff on the ground work tirelessly to ensure that everything runs perfectly (special shout-out to Emma here). The food was good, prices are reasonable - as far as weddings go - & there are certain little touches that really make your day. Thank you all those staff - you know who you are!

The only reason this review isn't 5 star is due to the way you're treated after the wedding. We've waited almost 6 weeks for our security deposit to be refunded but due to some damage to a radiator, this has yet to be returned and my e-mails are now being ignored. I have no issues paying for any damage caused, however the venue have yet to send proof of cost for repairs. Instead, I got a hypothetical quote from a manager based on a previous repair which, ironically, was the exact same amount as our security deposit...

Given the circumstances and what has happened, I thought Ashton Lodge may have had the decency to pay back our security deposit as a gesture of good will considering we spent £10k+ at their venue; clearly not!

I'm sure the venue will respond to this review with a wonderfully crafted response; outlining how I'm absolutely in the wrong so I look forward to that but I needed to include this information as a word of warning to those looking to get married at Ashton Lodge. Once you've spent your money, you're made to feel like just another customer unfortunately - A bitter end to a really special day.

We got married at Ashton Lodge yesterday, and we can genuinely say that it was everything we’d have hoped for and more. Rebecca was incredible and made us feel like VIPs - everything was at our own pace, and she was always on hand to make sure everything was going smoothly. Little things that we were concerned about on the morning were put to bed immediately as Rebecca had already thought about it and had a plan. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and quick and the whole day was perfect.
We cannot thank Rebecca enough and the whole team at Ashton Lodge. You spend a lot of money on a wedding and want it to be perfect, and they go out of their way to make sure that happens.
We dealt with Mia from the point of booking up to a couple of weeks before the wedding when Rebecca took over as she was going to be there on the day. Mia was great throughout the planning process, and there was obviously a really smooth handover as it seemed like Rebecca had been with us from the start.
Would 100% recommend this venue for anyone!!

Ashton Lodge was the perfect venue for our wedding this summer. A beautiful building in stunning surroundings, with an absolutely incredible team behind it. The whole process from viewing, booking and planning, right up to the day itself and afterwards, was smooth and easy with clear communication throughout. They were flexible around special requests and nothing was too much trouble. Every member of staff we dealt with was so friendly and helpful, and they genuinely care so much about helping you have the best day of your lives. The wedding went so smoothly which was hugely down to the staff - all minor hiccups were sorted immediately and they kept it stress free. Many of our guests commented on how lovely the venue was, the quality of the food and drink, and the helpfulness of the staff. We really couldn't be happier or recommend highly enough. Thank you, Ashton Lodge team, especially Mia, Natalie and Jade!

We had the most amazing day and memories that we will cherish forever. Ashton Lodge Country House is a beautiful venue the scenery is beautiful. The staff here are so welcoming and accommodating. Rebecca who we met when we first looked around last year is the most genuine person we have ever met so down to earth we had mia in our wedding meetings she is so lovely. We had Rebecca on our wedding day and she was amazing nothing we ever asked was too much trouble for her. She was there right from when I got there to get ready to end the night. She got my evening shoes and put them on for me as my shoes was hurting very much. She made sure our desserts was left so we could eat them as we went and took couple photos. It was a pleasure to have Rebecca with us on our special day and we are going to miss her. We can't wait to come back to ALCH in the future. All of our guests complemented how stunning the venue is and how amazing the food was. The food was exceptional and beautifully layed out. Thank you so much.
