Going into our wedding, my now wife and I had some idea of what we wanted for our wedding day, a venue away from the hustle and bustle of civilisation, a rustic but well equipped barn, picturesque surroundings for as far as the eye could see. We thought we were being too picky, and that such a venue only existed in our imaginations. That was until my wife stumbled across Home Farm Stables. From the pictures we were excited, and so we quickly asked to meet the owners to take a look around. Lucy and Barry met us in the court yard of their wedding venue. It had been easy to find, and we were impressed by how close to Uckfield it was for our guests to find transport, but somehow felt like it was a hundred miles to the nearest person. We greeted them, and immediately knew this place was special. They were warm and welcoming, but interested and excited in what we had planned. As we started walking around, a cynical man could think this was all part of a sales pitch, but as you will read below, this was far from the case. The venue itself is stunning, the barn is rich with character, set in front of bright fields which blur into lush forrest. The facilities are excellent, more than ample for any decently sized wedding, and everything is nicely accessible those less able. As you leave the barn, and enter the fields beyond, your view is dominated by a wise oak that almost seems too perfectly shaped to be real. Lucy and Barry suggested we should have our ceremony beneath the enormous canopy of the tree. We were thrilled. Throughout the planning of the wedding, Lucy and Barry maintained a level of enthusiasm that kept us excited for our wedding, rather than anxious over the details. They kept up the that initial energy that had drawn us in on the first meeting, contributing a plethora of ideas and suggestions which we adopted for our day, and it wouldn't have been the same without them. Wandering back up the field, we passed along side the pig sty and cottage that come with the venue. Again, everything is wonderfully equipped, and beautifully furnished. In front of the pond, near the cottage, there sat a repurposed horse carriage, Barry suggested we could have cocktails from it after the food, and we did. They were excellent. We also decided to have Glamping tents set up in the field, which Lucy and Barry helped organise. This was completely painless too, with our guests turning up to drop off their belongings straight into ready prepared bell tents. Our wedding day was flawless. It was, and always will be, a day we will remember for the rest of our lives. This was in no small part due to the perfect venue, and the perfect hosts. This venue is a MUST SEE! It is the perfect place to celebrate, and enjoy the best days of your lives.

We loved having our wedding reception at The Cartlodge last year. The staff were so helpful and communicated well. We had so many compliments on how lovely the venue was and we got some lovely professional photos from around the grounds too. 100% would recommend to others and we will host other events there when we need to!

The most stunning venue. We had so many compliments about how stunning the place is. The owners are so friendly and allow you to celebrate how you want. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Gorgeous location and has great staff who made sure our dreams came true. Everyone made us feel so comfortable and in very safe hands - on what could be a little bit of a stressful time! The barn is great if you would like to have everything in one location, we did the ceremony at one end which then turned into a dance floor after the wedding reception. Gorgeous piccie spots too - and 2 pigs (Tommy and Violet) that were stars of the show for the kids! Really recommend the Great Thatch Barn and Circa.

Alfriston gardens has just been completely renovated and looks absolutely gorgeous! We got married at the end of September and were the second wedding to be held there. The duo of Janie’s who’s fantastic and gets things done and helped me up to and including the day but Dean who runs black pepper (catering) for the venue was just as helpful. They helped up with the order of the day, tasting recommended other suppliers too. Janie helped when one of the decorations hadn’t arrived the day before and I had nothing to worry about. Would highly recommend this venue as it’s gorgeous and the team are fantastic. We had the best day!

We couldn’t have picked a better caterer/venue manager in the team at Circa. We sing their praises to anyone who will listen. We got married in summer 2022, postponed from Summer 2020. Circa are an incredible team and I’d highly recommend them to anyone! They have a stunning selection of places they look after but special mention to Gote Barn, our glorious venue in the South Downs. We ended up being in contact with Circa for 2.5 years about our wedding due to the pandemic, and they had the utmost professionalism throughout. The way they handled the changes and the pandemic was exemplary. We had three date changes and a venue change! They were considerate, understanding and communicated superbly. All we could ask for in what was a difficult time for everyone. In the run up to our wedding day the entire team were helpful, always responding quickly and very patient with all our last minute requests. Sara and Liv were exceptional in helping us plan the day, and Ben and his team were brilliant on the day itself. They were just the best and made every moment relaxed, fun and flexible. They were always there - but never intrusive, just making everything went smoothly behind the scenes. We chose Circa because they are 'food led’. And the food didn’t disappoint. It was plentiful and divine. I am still thinking about the prawn taco canape and the BBQ food and salads. It was all stunning. And the gelato bike was very welcomed by all! We loved our wedding day and Circa played a massive role in making it the success it was.

We ended up having to postpone our wedding because of covid, and Tara and Jez were super helpful the whole way through and really made the whole situation much less stressful! The venue is stunning and made for such a relaxed day, I wish we could do it all again!

We only visited one venue in our search for the perfect wedding venue... Hendall Manor Barns! From the moment you drive up the private driveway and make your way to the barns, you feel a sense of privacy and seclusion which was what we were after. Nicola and Peter helped us turn our vision in to a reality and guided us whenever we needed it. At Hendall you choose your own caterer and they don't charge corkage so we were able to offer exactly what we wanted to our guests, rather than a package offering which was just what we wanted. On the day, the venue looks simply breathtaking. We stayed in the adjacent holiday cottage the night before and night of our wedding which made for an excellent bridal preparation venue in the morning. We cannot fault Hendall and were delighted that we chose this venue for our wedding! Such fond memories of a happy, beautiful day.

Just wanted to say a MASSIVE thanks to you, Nicky, Michael, Krysia and all the team at Pangdean for making our day so amazing, So many of the guests have told us it was the best wedding they’ve been too. The service, the food, the staff, Michael bless him who even acted as master of ceremony, all of it was above and beyond and made it for us the perfect day we’d hoped for and for the guests one to remember.   Even the days before l felt so relieved that I had chosen Pangdean as a venue, on the Thursday I was a bag of nerves and left with a massive weight off my shoulders as nothing was a problem. Even my sister said later on, “you know it’s going to be good, I’m pretty sure even if the cake lady turned up and dropped the cake they’d whip one up and get some flowers from the garden” ?   There was just so much Pangdean did, so many little things that even in my dazed state I noticed. The setup, was exactly as I’d asked, sounds obvious but I know of plenty of examples where the venue or suppliers have let people down. The cheese and cake takeaway box they did for the people who came to collect my son and niece in the evening, the glasses never empty, the food delivered almost altogether, I literally saw every single plate empty (apart from mine, nerves got the better of me) but I did make sure I tried a bit of everything. The canapes that were saved for me and Matt when we arrived at the venue and that Nicky personally served us.   Literally everything was perfect, and we can’t thank Pangdean enough.

Laughton barns is an amazing wedding venue, there's a massive amount of space to allow you to create any wedding you want. Circa are incredibly flexible and work really hard to give you the perfect day.
