Facilities and Capacity
Perfect for small and intimate weddings, or more lavish celebrations of up to 100 guests for a seated wedding breakfast and 150 for evening celebrations. Berwick is licensed to hold civil ceremonies for up to 100 guests inside, or outside in good weather. Our grounds can host a marquee in addition, which increases capacity to 200 guests.
The enchanting grounds offer spectacular features with an abundance of beautiful surroundings – picture an intricate pergola entwined with wisteria and clematis, leading the way to Aphrodite’s Dome – a striking structure with an intricately designed dome roof. The glistening fountain, original Victorian summerhouse, orchard, tree swing, and views across to Wales, offer additional backdrops for romantic photographs.
The interior of the stunning Victorian building reflects historical British luxury and comfort with a subtle Turkish twist. You’ll find original wood panelling and open fires, a sweeping staircase, and sparkling chandeliers. And that’s just in the entrance hall! The reception room is a wonderfully bright and airy room – floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the gardens and out towards the sparkling lights of Wales beyond.
Our stunning collection of 14 individually designed boutique rooms, all with en-suites and unique characteristics means there’s plenty of onsite accommodation for your nearest and dearest, and a beautiful wedding suite for yourselves.
Services Offered
Food is at the core of what we do here at Berwick Lodge, and something we are very passionate about. Our delicious food, provided by our in-house team, will be served from our specially created wedding menus, using seasonal and local ingredients as much as possible. Although we pride ourselves on the ease of our all-inclusive wedding offering, we also hugely believe in personalisation and flexibility. Therefore, exclusive use weddings are welcome to forgo Berwick’s delicious evening catering (for a £500 fee) and instead hire their own self-contained catering van or food truck of choice
Our experienced wedding coordinator Georgia, with help from the owner Sarah, will be on hand from the very start of your journey to ensure your plans and dreams comes to life and your personality shines through.
On the day itself, Rhianna will effortlessly calm your nerves and ensure the day runs smoothly, with the help of our restaurant manager and waiting team whose service is second to none.

An absolute dream! from start to finish ♡
If I could rate this hotel a billion out of ten I would, we had our wedding in December, and everything was decorated beautifully, it was so cosy and romantic. The rooms are all stunning with a great breakfast included. The day before our wedding our photographer became unwell and had to cancel, the staff being so kind stepped in and helped us take our photos of us and group ones with our guests, we owe them so much for capturing our day out of the kindness of their hearts. The people in particular, Simone, Georgia and Rhianna have been essential in making sure we had the best day ever! all the staff were so accommodating and genuinely want you to have a great day. The whole year we spent planning, they were just a phone call or email away, it made the whole process seamless and very enjoyable, rather than the usual stress. The food was amazing, the service was incredible, I cannot recommend this place enough!

Berwick Lodge gave us the perfect wedding day
My husband and I recently got married at Berwick Lodge on 31 August 2024, and what an incredible wedding venue it is. The team are worth every 5-star review they get.
We’re not from Bristol, but we chose Berwick because we loved how characterful, authentic and welcoming the property felt. For our 65-person wedding, it was the perfect size. We saw a lot of venues that felt purpose-built for the conveyor belt of wedding season. But that wasn’t Berwick at all. The exterior building is beautiful, of course. But what I loved most is the feel of the place inside, with its beautiful wood panelling, chandeliers, gorgeous bay windows, grand fireplaces, antique dressers full of glassware and regal green dining chairs. It’s so characterful that you feel like you are in a period property having the party of a lifetime. Guests said it was like a Bridgerton wedding (some also said Saltburn in terms of the luxury country manor vibe!)
I also loved that Berwick’s Hattusa restaurant was highly regarded in its own right. During our first visit, we overheard a local family thanking the restaurant “for another outstanding meal”, which sealed the deal for us. The quality really showed through in our wedding breakfast. Guests made a point of saying how good the food was afterwards, which says it all.
Honestly, the whole experience of organising our wedding at Berwick Lodge was flawless thanks to the wedding team. We liaised with Georgia in the run up to the wedding – from first visits, to securing our date and then arranging the menu tasting and the final detail meeting. Georgia was incredibly friendly, professional and helpful, and offered great advice when we needed it. The venue asks you to organise all the details of the wedding via a Google Drive, which was very useful and well thought out. The wedding pack provided us with pretty much all the information we needed, but Georgia was always there on email to answer any questions.
On the day, we were looked after by Rhianna and Tan who were both so calming and organised. What makes their service stand out is they are so kind and lovely to the couple. It just leaves you feeling reassured and looked after by your wedding venue, which is all you want on such a special day.
We had exclusive use of the wedding venue, with friends and family staying over in the hotel. Everyone was very happy with their rooms. Lydia, Phyrgia, Troya and Kappadokia were particularly amazing. Real wow factor rooms. My only regret is not taking the option to exclusively book out the venue for the night before the wedding.
Ultimately, Berwick Lodge is a fantastic wedding venue. Our wedding day ran smoothly, everything was high quality and well-presented, and our guests had the most fantastic day. We would definitely recommend it to other couples.

5* Professionalism for the Whole Package
We cannot recommend Berwick Lodge enough. Not only is it a beautiful venue in a stunning location, but the Weddings team were awesome in helping us craft, plan and execute our wedding day.
Prior the the day, the wedding coordinator Georgia, who is amazing at her job, kept us on track with what we needed to sort by when and helped us with the finer details. On the day itself, we had a fantastic duo of Rhianna and Tan to ease our nerves and make sure the day operated flawlessly. They are all such lovely people that it was a joy to have them as part of our day - it made all the difference.
The venue itself was ideal for our wedding of ~50 people, but I'm sure would work well with more than that. We were blessed with great weather, so had a lovely outdoor ceremony by the fountain, and then our guests enjoyed drinks in the grounds for most of the reception.
The food is amazing - we got a ton of compliments from our guests that it was the best they had had at a wedding.
The rooms are also so nice - my wife's niece said it was like being in Buckingham Palace!
All in all, couldn't rate it enough and if you are considering Berwick Lodge, we'd encourage you to go and take a look around!

Magical Christmas Wedding
We went to see Berwick Lodge in September having seen several venues in and around Bristol with a similar vibe it was the only one that really captivated us and made us feel like they actually wanted to help us and be apart of our big day. Berwick instantly made us feel at home, the staff from first visit to the big day were amazing, helpful and polite throughout.
We liked it so much we decided once to book for December - the deal was exactly what we wanted.
With approximately 12 weeks of planning and organizing time, communication was spot on and on the day it ran so smoothly, every guest we have spoken to said how much they enjoyed the day, the food and location. Many said they would return to the Lodge to enjoy the grounds in the warmer months. And lots of people said it was amongst the best food at wedding they had experienced.
We were a very chilled out, relaxed couple, we gave our table decorations to Rhianna and the team and they did the rest, any requests we had were made possible.
Christmas only enhanced the location for us, the decorations were perfect and made it feel homely and intimate which is just what we wanted, despite it being a moderate size wedding!
The only downside was it going so fast, and not getting to really appreciate the luxuriousness of the bridal suite!
It was also lovely being able to have the venue exclusively to ourselves which made it feel special and being able to have breakfast with family the next day was lovely.
It's location whilst easily accessible from major routes and close to several hotels made it a good choice for travelling guests it still had a peaceful vibe surrounded by countryside - Welsh guests in particular were fans of the view across the Severn.

Magical and so very special!
Wow! Have no words to describe how wonderful it is to have a wedding here! We did the elopement package which we extended by two days and spent the most amazing 4 days here to get married! Mags and the wedding team, reception, all waiting staff, just everyone have the best and most friendliest customer service ever! Sarah (the owner) you must be so proud of your team! We can not say how magical it was and our room Lydia just absolutely exquisite! Mags kept me calm and the whole stay ran so smoothly. The restaurant food was so well presented and everything was delicious! Our photographer Alicia was incredible, and the Hotel and grounds were the perfect backdrop to make it all so special. We had some much needed massages from Claire, pure bliss. I am so pleased we chose Berwick to get married and we were in tears when we left! We can’t wait to return for a visit, such a relaxing, beautiful and perfect place. Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts! Love Cheryl & Kevin Bowron

Perfect from start to finish
As all the other reviews say, where to start? From the initial viewing to the day of the wedding was almost exactly 3 months, so not a lot of time! Georgia was incredible, even to the point of arranging an emergency appointment with the registrar so we had enough time to give notice. The build up was professional, organised but also relaxed given the timeframe, which put everyone at ease. The day itself was everything we could have asked for a lot more on top. Comments from many guests included “best wedding venue I have been too”, “incredible day and wedding” and “absolutely everything was on point”. I cannot imagine how anyone could be disappointed with having their wedding at Berwick Lodge. Thank you to all the staff, you were amazing.

Fantastic venue and amazing staff x
We first went to see the venue a couple of years ago and we both immediately decided this was the venue for us. Georgia was amazing and made the organisation of our wedding so easy to plan and her help/advise was gratefully received. On the day we were perfectly looked after by Rhianna and her team. It really was an amazing day/evening and enjoyed by all.

Simply the best
Simone, Georgia and team Berwick were just simply amazing, from the one on one viewing during lockdown to the execution of our big day 2 years later everything was perfect. Nothing was ever too much, no question too silly and we truly felt special thanks to the effort made by the team to get to know us. Thank you so much, I wish I could do it all again! ( with the same man of course!)

Perfect venue for our wedding
Not sure where to start. What a perfect venue in every way. The whole experience from the first e-mail contact to the day of our wedding was perfect.
We were looking for the perfect wedding venue for our elopement wedding. We had a meeting with Magdalena when she showed us around the place the ceremony room and the bridal suits. Magdalena’s response to e-mails was exceptional, very helpful and quick. Before we booked, we had a final visit when we decided the place was so beautiful it was too nice not to share it with our family and close friends, so we decided to increase our wedding party to 35.
Magdalena made the whole process so easy and took all the stress off our shoulder even when we threw a few curved ball, she was very accommodating. She set up everything exactly how we wanted.
The day itself was perfect, we could not have wish for a better day. Magdalena is an exceptional wedding planner with a brilliant team . All the staff where very friendly, everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had the best day we could remember.
The venue inside and outside including its garden is gorgeous, we had so many beautiful pictures. The food was exceptional with a first-class service.
I would 100% recommend Berwick Lodge to anyone who is still looking for their perfect venue.

Beautiful countryside wedding venue
Berwick Lodge is such a beautiful venue and everything about the planning process and the day itself went so smoothly thanks to all the staff.
We were provided with an incredibly helpful spreadsheet to guide us through all the decisions we needed to make, and it ensured all the little details were captured to ensure the day ran exactly as we wanted.
The food was amazing and we received compliments from all our guests, and the level of service from all the kitchen/bar staff was superb.
We were especially impressed with Rhianna who took charge on the day itself and ensured neither of us had to think about anything other than enjoying ourselves. It all ran like clockwork :)

Perfect Day
We got married here on 25/02/2023.
The venue is just brilliant- beautiful and spacious but not too formal and was perfect for our winter wedding. The location is perfect, just outside Bristol and off the motorway with other hotels close by, but it feels very secluded and off the beaten track when you get there.
The rooms are all beautiful, we stayed in Troya which has to be seen to be believed!
The food was really good, lots of our guests commented on the quality and size of the portions.
However the best thing about Berwick Lodge is the staff, everyone is just fantastic, so friendly and brilliant at their jobs and happy to go the extra mile to help. Simone and Georgia went through every detail with us and were super quick at responding to queries and guiding us through everything. On the day Rhiannon ran everything with military precision- we honestly didn't have to worry about a thing. All the catering and bar staff were also super-efficient and made sure everyone was fed and watered!
We had an amazing day and would totally recommend Berwick Lodge to anyone considering it :)

Fabulous team, smooth coordination
Berwick team were fantastic throughout the whole planning process- we planned remotely as we were travelling for the wedding and they were great at keeping us updated and having regular meetings! The execution on the day itself was very impressive, ourselves and our guests had very smooth transitions throughout the day and felt nothing was too much for everyone! The staff were so friendly and helpful, they anticipated what people would want and when so the service was excellent! The food too was amazing, each course well thought out and served on time! Brilliant venue, will definitely be back!

Couldn't imagine a better wedding venue
Berwick lodge is an absolutely beautiful venue nestled away in a secluded yet highly accessible area. The grounds are beautiful, the main house is beautiful, the rooms are incredible and the food is impeccable!
The wedding team are absolutely fantastic. They helped every single step of the way from the initial chat right up until the end of our wedding day, always responding to questions quickly and being incredibly helpful. Everything was fantastically organised on an easy to use Google Drive area with documents and spreadsheets updated by both ourselves and the wedding team so everyone was always aware of what had been planned and what more needed to be done. The personal touches that the team put on each couple is amazing, we had so many one on one chats with the wedding coordinator (Simone now Rhianna - amazing people) which really really helped through every single tiny thing that needed to be planned.
The actual wedding day went off without a hitch thanks to the wedding team and the rest of the fantastic staff at Berwick. Every need was catered for and all guests were aware of where they needed to be and when. All extras such as after dinner coffee and petit fores were put out at exactly the right time and the team honestly could not have done a better job.

A Dream Wedding
We wanted a place that looked the part, without being huge. A place that we could easily fill with vital guests, while still being self contained and within easy travel reach. Berewick Lodge seemed too good to be true when we saw it online, but a visit quickly proved that it was every part the perfect venue.
Simone was a star when it came to keeping us up to date and in the loop, especially with all our rescheduling due to covid. Rhianna performed the duties of wedding planner on the day and she was an absolute champion. I don't think I've ever received a more genuinely positive service. Their staff were always happy, eager to help, and also keen to go the extra mile to make sure me, my bride, and our family and friends had what we needed.
The venue is every bit as magical as the pictures suggest and the rooms are divine. Our guests simply did not stop singing its praises. Myself and my bride truly felt like Lord and Lady of the manor for they two days we were there.
The food was delicious - some of our guests are restaurant owners so are very picky, but they said that everything they had was wonderful.

Just Brilliant
We got married here on 22.01.22.
Haven't got enough superlatives for how well it went and how great the staff all were. Simone, our wedding planner was brilliant all through the run up and planning and we enjoyed our meetings with her. On the day Niamh was in control until the afternoon, also excellent, calm and in control and always cheerful and accomadating. Nicoletta, the restaurant manager was in charge after that and for the evening and she was equally lovely. We had nothing to worry about at any time.
This place is referred to as Bristols hidden Gem. I hope it remains so, as if everybody discovered how good this place is, everybody would want their wedding here.
Thanks also to Sarah, the owner who was also always warm and rightly proud of her amazing hotel.
We will be back for meals out, anniversary stays and afternoon teas and look forward to seeing you all again!
