Located right in the heart of Salisbury in Wiltshire, The Red Lion Hotel is an 800-year-old four-star hotel available to host your romantic wedding celebrations. With history and heart weaving through every beam, this venue provides you with an incredible atmosphere and beautiful photography backdrops in its picturesque courtyard.
Facilities and Capacity
The Red Lion Hotel is a licensed wedding venue, giving you the option of holding your ceremony and reception all in one location. Arrive at a red carpet entrance on the day, taking photos and savouring the moment before heading inside. The hotel can accommodate ceremonies of up to 80 guests, and you have the choice of two beautiful suites.
Your wedding reception can be held in your choice of three rooms, with the largest being the Courtyard Suite. This suite can hold up to 120 guests for your evening reception, with its own private entrance, bar, and access to the courtyard. A large dance floor awaits you and your guests to dance the night away before retiring for the night.

Your wedding breakfast is created by the venue's talented team of chefs using fresh and locally sourced produce where possible and catering for all dietary requirements. Their menus are just a starting point, if there’s something that you’d like for your wedding breakfast, they can be flexible.

Our wedding
Beautiful venue and amazing staff
The room was turned around for the evening, we had a disco and buffet, we over run slightly and asked for the buffet to be stalled a bit, the staff were brilliant and did all they could for us to ensure we were happy and things all run as it should have.
Angel was on duty earlier in the day, she was lovely, nothing was too much trouble and she ensured the table decorations were put out and the doughnut wall topped up. She went over and above - she was especially patient with me as I was super nervous trying to get ready to go meet the registrars.
We stayed in the Seamstress Room, I have never stayed in such an amazingly beautiful room. We want to book in again to stay for our anniversary.
I want to mention how professional and attentive Radina was prior to the wedding ensuring we had every tiny detail recorded as we wanted it, Radina even popped in on her day off to see us and make sure all was running as we wanted it.
