Bigstrup Farm is a rustic wedding venue located in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire. Ideal for couples who wish to say 'I do' in an intimate setting, this countryside gem is home to a vintage barn and a charming courtyard garden. You and your significant other are invited to indulge in your dream wedding at this rural getaway.
Venue: Includes access to our lovely 400-year-old tythe barn with a stage area, courtyard garden with a bar, meadow barn and surrounding fields. Previous weddings we have hosted have had drinks and canapes in the courtyard garden before moving into the meadow barn for the wedding breakfast (with a marquee inner lining which gives it the same atmosphere/feel as a marquee) and then having music and dancing in the tythe barn. We're more than happy to work with you on how best to use our space to fit your dream day.
Capacity: The meadow barn comfortably fits 140 guests for a sit-down meal.
Timings: Guests can arrive at the venue from 11 am on the day of your wedding. We ask that all music be stopped by 11 pm and guests leave by midnight.
Bar: We have a fully stocked pay bar, which will be available for service from 12 pm to 11 pm. Corkage will be charged if you wish to bring any of your own drinks.
Catering and suppliers: We're happy to recommend some of the caterers and suppliers who have served at weddings here in the past, but we have no restrictions on who you can use. We have an outbuilding available for caterers to use.
Accommodation: We don't have any on-site accommodation, but there are plenty of hotels and Airbnbs nearby. We'd be happy to share a list of recommendations.
Ceremonies: While we don't have a wedding license, we've had some lovely celebrant-led ceremonies both inside and outside at the farm. We'd be delighted to talk you through the options for this and recommend celebrants.
Garden games: We have some fantastic games that your guests can enjoy in our garden, including Aunt Sally, Corn Hole and Jenga.
Before the event: We're serious about providing a unique setting for a wedding that you can truly make your own. We allow you access to the venue the day before your wedding, so you can do just that.
The next day: We offer the option to book the venue the next day from 12 pm to 6 pm at a discounted rate. This gives you the perfect opportunity to reminisce with your guests on the day before and say goodbye before your honeymoon.
Prices: Our venue hire is a fixed fee for the wedding day from 11 am - 12 pm. This includes access to the venue a day prior to the event, a fully stocked pay bar with bar staff, a fully furnished meadow barn with tables and chairs for the wedding breakfast, and garden games. We're happy to help you with recommendations for caterers/entertainment you would like on the day.

The PERFECT Wedding Venue!
We couldn't have asked for more
We live locally in nearby Haddenham and couldn't believe our luck when we found it. The property and grounds are absolutely stunning, including two barns (the beautifully restored Tythe Barn and spacious Meadow Barn), courtyard garden with covered bar area, playroom, and large gardens with sweeping views of the Chilterns. This provides couples with flexibility to devise their day in a way that suits them, and (fortunately for us!) means there are always options for wet weather.
Will was fantastic to work with throughout the process, from our initial site visit to recommending suppliers to helping keep things running on the day. I can't think of anything we requested which he didn't offer a solution for, and his communication was great throughout. Will managed a fantastic team on the day who ran the drinks service, ensured the spaces were set for different parts of the day, and even helped get some guests home when taxis no-showed! Bigstrup Farm is a family home and family-run business, and you can see this through the tremendous care of the property and pride taken in delivering an amazing experience.
Some helpful pointers for couples considering Bigstrup Farm...
1. It's a DIY venue which means you'll need to source your own suppliers, including catering, and decor. We loved this as it gave us total control on who we worked with and how much we spent, and we had some great recommendations from Will for suppliers they'd worked with previously.
2. They don't have a licence, yet, which means you'll need to consider a licensed venue for your legal wedding. There's a beautiful church in Dinton if you're local, the registry office in Aylesbury is nearby or there are other licensed spaces in the area, but again worth considering. We had a blessing in Bigstrup Farm's stunning Tythe Barn and it was perfect.
3. They only do one wedding per weekend, which (for Saturdays) gives you x2 days for set-up and Sunday to pack everything down. This was a huge advantage compared to other venues that might pack in three weddings per weekend and really squeeze your time on site, and you'll be especially grateful for the lie-in the morning after!
In summary, we were absolutely delighted to have chosen Bigstrup Farm for our wedding. Will, family and team - thank you for everything. Susie and Mike x

The most perfect wedding venue
The perfect venue for an incredible day
The team on the day were extremely friendly and professional and helped wherever required to make our day extra special. Will is exceptionally personable and made us both feel extremely relaxed and confident right from our first meeting and it was a pleasure to work with him and the whole Bigstrup team. His communication in the lead up was incredible, answering literally all our questions in record time, photos, recommendations and all. It made the whole process so much easier. He was also open to the few suggestions we had to allow us to make our day our own, including adding some local gin to the bar menu.
Overall, Bigstrup was instrumental in making our day all we could have dreamed of. If you are looking for a beautiful, friendly, relaxed, family-orientated wedding - look no further. We could not recommend highly enough.

Absolutely fantastic - highly recommend!
The variety of event spaces make it the perfect spot to hold a wedding. Many of our guests commented on the beauty and character of the venue, including the old Tythe Barn which is fab for dancing, and the beautiful courtyard and gardens for the drinks reception. The grounds are stunning and provide a wonderful backdrop for photographs, particularly at sunset!
Will and the events team were fantastic to work with. They are highly professional, very accommodating and friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure your wedding day goes exactly as hoped.
Many of our guests shared that they wished that they could have held their wedding at Bigstrup Farm! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxed and spacious wedding venue. Thank you Will for making our day one that we won't forget! Victoria x
