We chose Bisham Abbey as we wanted to get married by the river as it meant something to us personally so Bisham Abbey felt like a natural choice. Melissa was so welcoming on our initial visit and answered all our questions including coming up with options such as an outside ceremony and allowing us to bring our dog for our ceremony on the day which was important to us. Throughout the planning process Melissa and Georgia were always approachable, so quick to reply and were always available for multiple meetings which was reassuring and calming. The tasting trial was incredible and gave us such joy in preparation for the day and excitement.
We were able to come the day before to set up and Melissa was on hand for all questions and worries. The day of the wedding it was pouring with rain but Georgia was available from the beginning of the day helping with our vendors and providing anything we needed. Thankfully it stopped raining 20 minutes before the ceremony and we still had our outside ceremony under a marquee with outside canapes!
The staff were incredible, the food was amazing, the transformation for the dancefloor created such an atmosphere for our evening party that our guests were blown away. Honestly I cannot praise enough the venue, the staff and the hardwork of Georgia and Melissa.
On top, we stayed at the venue as well as a number of our guests and we got a great breakfast the next day!
Altogether our day came together in the most perfect day for a fantastic price and a huge part of that was the venue and the team at Bisham Abbey so thank you.

A really great venue, especially for during the summer months. We had our ceremony outside and the staff were very accommodating and the food was lovely! The wedding coordinator Melissa was absolutely amazing, she made our day go by so smoothly.

Also, the venue is really good value for money and is in such a great location by the Thames river.

Bisham Abbey is the perfect place for your wedding. From beginning to the end, our wedding coordinator Melissa was absolutely brilliant. I was a very nervous bride, and she made me feel relaxed and reassured me in every way possible. The food was incredible, the service excellent, infact the whole day was just perfect. With the beautiful views of the Thames from the Abbey, having a wedding in the grounds would be a stunning option. Sadly, due to the cold weather on the day, we had it inside which was very glamorous, considering the building was old and the previous home of king Henry the viii.
Don’t hesitate, it will be worth the money to have this memory with you for a lifetime.

Melissa and Georgia looked after us really well in the run up to the wedding, making sure we had everything organised, which took away all of the stress.

Georgia was really brilliant on our wedding day. Everything was seamless. She arrived well before the start of the ceremony coordinating our suppliers and making sure we were both OK, we really didn’t have to worry about a thing all day! She even remembered all of our little requests.

We had a wonderful civil wedding ceremony for 45, with excellent lunch, followed by a party & dancing for 100. The Bisham Abbey staff were really good, responsive with queries and actioned our requests fast, including all dietary needs. The whole day went superbly, was really well executed. We had total confidence in our team.
The venue has loads of space, and having the whole place to ourselves felt really special. Plus accommodation in the Abbey and more in the Sports Centre.
It worked really brilliantly and we thoroughly recommend Meliss, Gerogia, Tom and their staff to make your day a triumph.

We got married at Bisham in April 2023 - and genuinely had the most incredible day of our lives.
The set up was excellent. Beautiful surroundings next to the river. Unique hall to have the wedding breakfast in. Good food from in house caterers. A number of rooms that can be utilised that avoid the need for room turnovers. Extremely convenient very nearby but not attached hotel, with a weekend clientele who aren’t going to walk through the wedding venue.

Georgia and Melissa were particularly helpful, very organised and accommodating - nothing seemed to be too much trouble. They ensured everything ran smoothly with minimal input from us.

We and our guests had a stress free, wonderful day.

Our wedding planner found Bisham Abbey for us after us not feeling comfortable with another venue we had booked. We are so glad she suggested Bisham as as soon as we met with Melissa we felt completely at ease and nothing ever seemed liked too much to ask.

Beautiful venue by the river, with comfortable bedrooms for the core group in the abbey, and plenty of extra accommodation in the on-site hotel. Really nice pub down the road for dinner the night before! during planning, Melissa was very friendly and organised, and answered all of our questions about the specifics. The food was all excellent and there was a good selection of options to choose from. The day went really smoothly!

The entire venue is so idyllic. We were lucky to have a warm summer's day and had our ceremony on the lovely lawn by the Thames. The great hall is a lovely setting for the meal, and the building has so much history, making it feel very unique. Our guests were also able to relax by the river as the sun went down with a bottle of wine.

The staff were very attentive, and the whole day felt very relaxed. Melissa in particular was so helpful throughout the planning process and during the day. Everything was very flexible so we could really make the day how we wanted it.

We honestly could not have asked for any more from our choice of venue, and we couldn't recommend Bisham Abbey enough!

We also had the perfect weather which was amazing too, so our ceremony was outside by the Thames just as we wanted, but plan B (inside in The Warwick Room) would have also been beautiful too, and that's why we picked Bisham Abbey, because we had a fantastic back up plan.
Regarding packages, we went for their basic package, because you can always add things on at a later date if required.
The Great Hall is just amazing for the wedding breakfast too, we went for a banquet style setup.
All in all we couldn't have wished for a more amazing wedding day!

Melissa and her team were amazing from the outset, letting us personalise our day and bringing our vision to life. The support and care throughout the organisational stages and through the event itself were flawless. The venue was sensational - a beautiful historic building, with so much character, while being brilliantly maintained and equipped for modern use and events. We made full use of all the rooms, each with their own personality and fitting each stage of our event: Dinner in the Great Hall, Dancing in the Warwick Room, Reception in the garden and bar in the Margaret Dickinson suite, with snacks and cake in the Sonning room. It was brilliant for our guests to stay on site and incredibly comfortable rooms and great breakfast. Talking of food, the wedding breakfast was delicious. We opted for vegan which all our guests loved (some surprising themselves!) and the cheese board in the evening was also a hit. We cannot rate it highly enough. Thank you

We had a British Persian Wedding and the venue totally embraced all our requests and helped us create the day we wanted. Everything was seamless from our perspective and the venue is gorgeous setting for a wedding.

Melissa and Georgia were incredible throughout the process - so efficient and helpful.
The venue itself is beautiful with incredible history and a lovely setting right on the river. It's also great that it has various different rooms for different things so people can find a quiet corner if they want to. Also pretty convenient for lots of people to get to, both from London and from the West of the country.

The day itself went so smoothly, nothing was too much trouble and the special touches were brilliant. For instance a few people asked for non alcoholic substitutes for the toast and this was done straight away and the cake for the evening food was arranged beautifully. The food generally was incredible! So many people commented on it.

We found that they were so much more flexible than most wedding venues - as long as we asked and agreed on things in advance, they were brilliant. There were no hidden costs, everything was up front and clear. All weddings of course are a lot of money but we felt that this was all great venue and we got a lot for our money.

People were blown away by this venue - we'd 100% recommend it and would definitely do it all again there if we could.

We had our wonderful wedding reception here at Bisham Abbey on 22nd July 2023 for 95 people, and we had the best day ever. The venue is absolutely stunning and we have had many compliments about it since. We had the wedding breakfast in the magnificent Great Hall which looks stunning in our photos. We were very thankful we chose this specific venue as it caters for all weather, which was handy when it rained on our wedding day. The Margaret Dickinson and Sonning rooms were invaluable when our outdoors drinks reception on the lawn was not possible due to the rain. The photos show the character of the rooms in the Abbey and it was brilliant that we could use all the rooms throughout our day, from the Elizabethan room for bridal prep and the Warwick room for our evening food. The lawn and beautiful backdrop of the river made it perfect for our wedding day, as we arrived from the Church by boat, despite the weather! The sports centre is only a 2-minute walk away made overnight accommodation for our guests easy and convenient, with good quality rooms and buffet breakfast.

The food was amazing, we chose the beef, but some of our guests had the seabass and vegan options which they also enjoyed.

Throughout our wedding planning process both Melissa and Georgia were fantastic. From meeting Melissa at an open-day, we were immediately impressed with her friendly yet professional attitude and helpful nature in comparison to other venue organisers we had spoken with. This is what gave us the confidence to make a booking the following week. Melissa was fantastic at answering all our questions and brilliant at giving us advice about some of those pre-wedding decisions. Melissa and Georgia went out of their way to accommodate our wishes for our big day but also provided their honest guidance and advice from their vast experience of planning weddings with other couples to make sure our day was perfect.

Georgia was exceptional at keeping the day on plan. She is such an approachable but also professional person with impeccable organisational skills, particularly when leading her team during the wedding breakfast service. Many of our guests even complimented her on what an amazing job she was doing on the day itself.

We would whole heartedly recommended Bisham Abbey as a wedding venue to anyone, honestly the best venue and the best team to host your wedding. We had a lovely enjoyable and most importantly stress free wedding day and felt very confident in putting all our trust in Melissa, Georgia, and the Bisham Abbey team.
