Blithfield Lakeside Barns is a wedding venue situated in the village of Abbots Bromley, Rugeley. This exclusive use venue is nestled in the idyllic Staffordshire countryside beside a 700-acre lake, the Blithfield Reservoir. If photo opportunities are important to you, we have a breathtakingly scenic setting for celebrations both large and small.
The Wedding Barn was completed in August 2021 by the Brown family and has been finished to the highest of standards. With white washed walls and exposed rustic beams our couples have the opportunity to really put their own stamp on their wedding day. Ideas really are endless at Blithfield, from festival themes to traditional wedding breakfasts, we want to turn all your wedding dreams into reality.
Facilities and Capacity
Weddings at Blithfield Lakeside Barns take place in The Wedding Barn. For larger weddings the room will need to be flipped from your ceremony to wedding breakfast, this can be done while your guests are outside having an al fresco drinks reception or at the bar. It only takes a few minutes!
Our capacity is 180 guests + we have the option to hire a marquee on the side at an additional cost. We've hosted weddings up to 350 so far. Please email us for more information on marquees.
Services Offered
After celebrating your romantic occasion, you and your loved ones can retire to the estate's private holiday cottages. The six enchanting homes vary in size and can sleep up to 32 guests.They are also equipped with private patios, where you can sit out and enjoy the views or a late-night drink. If you want to get away for an afternoon, you can also head to Cannock Chase, which is just four miles away. Here, you can stop by a quaint English pub, or travel even further afield to the legendary Peak District.

Best venue we could have possibly asked for
Alex and Lydia were so relaxed throughout the process which really put us at ease and made us feel we could completely customize our day and have it exactly as we wanted.
Our huge plus points were being able to have the hire of the on site cottages all weekend which made it feel that our wedding lasted all weekend rather than just one day. We were allowed our dog in the ceremony which was a huge bonus that she could be a proper part of our day. We were able to book our own food vendors which meant we could opt for something much more relaxed than a formal sit down meal (we had a pizza oven and crepe stall for the wedding breakfast and a chocolate fountain and hot dogs in the evening). And of course the stunning setting of the venue, second to none, we had a beautiful day and the view was BEAUTIFUL we have some amazing photos with the reservoir as the backdrop. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Blithfield Lakeside Barns, it was absolutely everything we wanted and more!! Thank you so much to Alex and Lydia for making it so perfect!
Our Dream Wedding
We were lucky to find the barn after loosing our previous venue, though we now truly believe that everything happens for a reason. From the moment we made contact with Alex and Lydia we have been impressed by their professionalism, kindness and genuine effort to make our day the best they possibly could. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them.

Hidden gem, amazing venue!
Not only this, Lydia & Alex were amazing from the very first meeting. They were friendly, approachable and you could tell they are very passionate about what they do. Their communication was second to none, responding to my emails within the hour most times. I found this to be very rare within the wedding industry so I really appreciated any questions I had being answered quickly.
There are 6 cottages on site included within the package, this again we found to be rare with a lot of venues and was one of the reasons we chose it. The cottages were beautiful, spacious, clean and all had lovely views from the garden area. Our close family and friends were able to celebrate with us from the Friday, making it a whole weekend celebration rather than just a day.
We had access to the venue the day before, allowing us to decorate however we wanted, Lydia & Alex were very flexible with this and offered ideas along the way. Blithfield gives you the opportunity to plan your wedding day exactly how you want, choosing your own caterers, DJ etc. This was great for us so we could pick and choose exactly what suppliers we wanted instead of having to use a venues contracted suppliers.
We had so many guests compliment the venue, the grounds and the view. The day itself went perfectly, Lydia & Alex were on hand all day and were so attentive.
I could not recommend Blithfield any more, it was perfect for us. Thank you Lydia & Alex!

Fabulous Venue!
Alex and Lydia were so kind, patient and supportive from the moment we booked with them. They were contactable and relaxed with our sometimes whacky requests!
We stayed in the cottages with family and friends from Friday to Monday. Our dog was also allowed to stay and be in the venue to be part of our day.
The views there are spectacular and we had a glorious sunset.
We have very fond memories and beautiful pictures of our day.
