A true fairytale come to life

I was just married here in June and I cannot say enough good things about this venue or the people who truly make it shine. Over your stay here no matter how short you will immediately feel like you are a part of the family. David and Deb are so wonderfully kind, incredibly helpful, personable, and outstanding at what they do. We planned this wedding from across the pond and I didn't have to worry once about food (which was one of the best meals I had while abroad), any of the ceremony or reception sites or flowers, really they take care of so much for you it makes the day so smooth and easy! My wedding day was an absolute dream and fulfilled every LOTR elvish whim I could imagine. Again I cannot say enough good things about David and the staff at Branxholm no one went hungry and certainly not thirsty the whole weekend. All of this and the fact that there are horses, baby chicks, goats, incredible accommodations, and literally SO MUCH more makes Branxholm Park the PERFECT wedding venue. I booked site unseen, it even rained and I regret nothing.

Wedding day of DREAMS

My husband and I got married here just days ago.

We came a long way from London, and took a gamble having never seen the venue in person before. Let me tell you; as our minibus ambled round the corner and Branxholm Park came into view, we all gasped. It’s just stunning. Truly something out of a fairytale.

We were given the warmest of welcomes by the wonderful Tracey, who had also helped our other guests to their rooms. Actually, she was, along with too many other points to mention, a highlight of our wedding experience. Tracey couldn’t do too much for us; she was such an Angel. She looked after our party so well that she was a fond topic of conversation on the way home! We love you Tracey!

I then caught up with David, who ran through every aspect of the following day with me, ensuring that everything we wanted and needed was in place. Again, I need to shout out to him because he checked on me consistently throughout the day, and was a huge hit with the kids; taking them with him armed with carrots to see the horses, and generally being fantastic. If you’re nervous or full of emotions then you need someone steady and calm like David to see you through!

The chapel was adorned with florals of our colour choice, and was something out of a true fairytale. With twinkling fairy lights and gorgeous details!

Each of our rooms were designed with a different theme in mind and were so luxurious and stunning that we didn’t want to leave. No, really!

The grounds are huge, and there is so much to do; our groomsmen spent the wedding morning using the spa facilities whilst the kids fell in love with the goats and outdoor playground.

The head chef, Jamie, was a hilarious sweetheart who as a fellow south Londoner I loved bantering with! The food was sublime.

I think I could spend all day writing about all the wonderful things that made our day so special. But alas, word limits. If you’re thinking about getting married here. Just do it. These memories will last us a lifetime; our guests, too. Best wedding I’ve ever been to and it was my own!

To David, Deb, Tracey, Jamie and ALL the wonderful staff (Jess, for holding my veil!!) we’d like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for playing such a massive role in making our day the best ever. ♥️♥️

Stunning venue, perfect day

When selecting a wedding venue, after doing our research we decided to visit Branxholm Park as it ticked all our boxes - it catered for a more intimate size of wedding, it was exclusive use, and it had on site accommodation. We thought it looked beautiful on the website - as Michael put "a bit like where the elves in Lord of the Rings" would dine".

When we visited, we knew very quickly that this was our perfect place, so much so that we never viewed any other venues! We could instantly envision ourselves an our guests celebrating here on our wedding weekend, staying in the beautiful rooms and chilling in the sauna. Michael's only question was - will there be dessert? However after sampling some of the delicious cakes that Deb made, we were more than satisfied that this was a yes.

When we arrived at the venue on the eve of our wedding, David was there to put our wedding nerves at ease. We were free to explore the venue, and to share all the rooms, features and animals with our families and friends. Our niece and nephew loved the mini cinema on the top floor, and were endlessly amused for the whole weekend. The Bring Your Own Booze option worked very well, with the groom party enjoying a few drinks then night before (until 3am!).

On the wedding day itself, myself and the bridal party opted for the oriental room to get ready in, though there were plenty of other options. Tracy looked after us, bringing coffees, breakfast, lunch and some fizz while we were getting ready.

The venue has a beautiful mini chapel which we got married in. As it was a gorgeous sunny day, our guests were able to make full use of the lovely grounds to enjoy a drink before and after the ceremony. Our photographers were delighted with so many options for stunning backdrops.

The wedding meal was fantastic. We enjoyed the (competitive) champagne fountain, and the dining room itself was beautiful. We added our own finishing touches to each table - favours and "wedding trump" cards - however they were already beautiful with nothing more needed.

One thing I would say is that you and your guests will never go hungry. The catering team did an amazing job on the meal itself, and kept us fed throughout the night with rolls, chips (according to several of our guests - the best chips they had ever eaten) and cake. They also catered to various allergies, intolerances and tastes.

The disco room worked very well. Our music connected easily to the speaker system, and we danced the night away. Our guests enjoyed playing barperson, and the drinks were flowing.
What I enjoyed most about the after party is that there was something for everyone - it was lovely to see our dad's playing a game of table tennis, and our friends singing karaoke with silly hats on. This is the perfect set up for extraverts and introverts alike!

Overall, I would recommend Branxholm Park if you are seeking a more intimate wedding with your closest family and friends. They managed to capture a house party vibe while adding a taste of luxury and a touch of magic. We could not have asked for a better day!

Beautiful venue, staff made the day perfect

We got married at Branxholm Park in September 2024. The venue is beautiful; a quirky, well-curated collection of indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring nobody could ever get bored. The animals are a gorgeous inclusion - the goats and horses are so friendly, and there's a wonderfully affectionate 3-legged cat called Cookie who was the real star of our day!

We booked the venue unseen - just based on the website and video tours - as we live in South Wales so couldn't nip up to an open day. This definitely contributed to my anxiety leading up to the day, but David & Debbie assured us that lots of people book without visiting, and the house and grounds really did exceed expectations. We did gasp as we drove up the road and saw it for the first time. We were lucky to have gorgeous sunny weather and the most amazing group of guests and vendors, so despite anxieties and small oversights, it really was a perfect wedding.

The staff at the house were fantastic, making us feel so incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. A special mention to Becky and Tracey, who were just fabulous friendly faces and above-and-beyond helpful.

I would have to say, though, that the wedding would have been much easier if we'd been able to speak to Becky (the on-the-day coordinator) in advance. It would also have been nice to receive some sort of welcome pack or guide to wedding planning. All the planning is done through emails with Debbie (the owner) who was a little difficult to talk to - slow or non-existent replies, confusing typos, lack of detail, and would not provide things like a seating plan despite being asked repeatedly. Maybe she's just very relaxed because they have a template for wedding days, but as an anxious couple we could have done with better communication and some more support with finalising details of our day. Several things that Debbie agreed/assured us would happen were not communicated to Becky and the house staff - they immediately sorted things out after our arrival and a quick chat, but it was unfair that they weren't warned about updates!

It's a shame that the organisation prior to the wedding was frustrating, as Branxholm Park truly has the potential to be the greatest 5-star wedding venue. After our arrival, everything felt very fun and relaxed, and the 2-night package allowed us to settle in and explore without feeling rushed about. We made use of the hot tub and karaoke room the first night, slept well in the huge comfortable beds, and had a relaxed morning getting ready in the house without having to stress about travelling to a separate ceremony venue. The whole house-party vibe was perfect for a relaxed holiday experience without feeling stuffy or formal. Some areas could have done with a better clean and a bit of love, and one of the showers upstairs didn't seem to work, but this didn't spoil it for us.

The meal the night before the wedding was lovely; hearty burgers with chips and an incredible range of cakes. The vegan cakes were among the best we've ever tasted - the blueberry/banana and the jaffa cake were standouts! Our wedding cake was a vegan lemon and blueberry one, which tasted absolutely amazing but was a little disappointing visually - it didn't resemble the reference images we had sent, and had been covered in artificial flowers, which was honestly a little tacky.* The promised "cake sword" also did not appear - we were just handed a kitchen knife for our cake cutting photos - and we weren't warned that there was cardboard inside each tier (not between; inside) of the cake, which made it difficult to cut.

Breakfast and brunch were excellent, no shortage of bacon/sausage/egg/vegan rolls, jam-filled croissants, and other lovely snacks. The canapes were also lovely - a great selection including some fab Asian-fusion style bites which is apparently the chef's speciality - I wish we'd known this in advance, as it might have influenced our dinner choices. The meal on the wedding day was a little disappointing, especially the risotto, but we did take a chance by going off-menu, which was very kind of the team to accommodate. A guest particularly remarked on the high quality of the gluten-free bread rolls, and all allergies/dietary requirements were catered for. Guests were promised gluten-free gnocchi but were given pasta instead, which was still very tasty but just a bit of a shame.

*On that note - be aware that all of the florals provided as part of the venue package are artificial and re-used repeatedly. This was not an issue for us, and better than importing real flowers and the associated waste, but just worth mentioning as this isn't explicitly stated by the venue.

Our guests stayed in the flats in Hawick that are also owned by David - these had a couple of issues with cleanliness/storage space and confusing plumbing but on the whole were lovely and comfortable. One major flaw was that there is only one set of keys per flat - this is fine for the one-bed, but made it frustrating for the people in the five-bed as they were all arriving at different times.

The only other real snag was accessibility - we had a guest who uses a wheelchair, and were told that the chapel was accessible but it is actually up a steep gravel slope (not clear on the video tour) and does not have space for a wheelchair, meaning he had to sit outside for the ceremony. The only downstairs loo is also not big enough for disabled access, and the house and glasshouse both have a step at the entrance. We understand that it's an old house and as such wouldn't have been built with accessibility in mind, but just be aware!

Overall, if you love animals and are looking for a whimsical wedding getaway with endless entertainment and photo opportunities, Branxholm Park is the place for you! The package deal they offer is ideally suited to laid-back, go-with-the-flow couples who don't need fine control of every aspect of their day and are relaxed about the planning process and timeline.

Best Wedding!

We had the most magical wedding at Branxholm. The team at the venue made sure everything ran smoothly and went above and beyond on every aspect of the day. Arthur the puppy especially loved his special treatment. Our guests had a great day and said it was the best wedding they had ever attended.

It is a truly unique venue and would highly recommend it to everyone.

An Unforgettable Magical Experience

Our wedding at Branxholm Park in Hawick was nothing short of spectacular, thanks to the incredible team and the stunning venue itself. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to an experience that exceeded all our expectations, making our special day truly unforgettable.

Deb and David, our wedding coordinators, were phenomenal. Their expertise, attention to detail, and genuine care for our wedding were evident from our first meeting. They were instrumental in ensuring everything ran smoothly, allowing us to fully enjoy our day without any worries. Deb's thoughtful gesture of getting us food to feed the goats for our pictures was a delightful and memorable highlight, adding a unique touch to our celebration.

Jess, Tracy and the rest of the staff provided service that was nothing short of amazing. Jess, in particular, was always available to answer any questions and assist us throughout our three-day stay. Her warm and accommodating nature made us feel at ease, and she went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our event was perfect.

The night before the wedding was incredibly relaxed, setting the tone for the rest of our stay. We all enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds, taking a dip in the hot tub, using the karaoke room, and playing volleyball and football tennis. The relaxed atmosphere allowed us to unwind and enjoy quality time with our loved ones, making the lead-up to our big day even more special.

All our guests were captivated by the beauty of Branxholm Park. The venue's charm and elegance created the perfect backdrop for our wedding, and many guests commented on how stunning it was. The picturesque surroundings, coupled with the well-maintained and beautifully decorated spaces, made for an enchanting setting that will forever be etched in our memories.

The canapés served at our wedding were a standout feature, with numerous guests raving about their quality and taste. Each bite was a culinary delight, reflecting the high standards of Branxholm Park's catering. The attention to detail in the presentation and the exquisite flavours truly impressed everyone, adding to the overall excellence of our wedding experience. I know that the Bestman tried his best to eat as many unlimited canapés as he could and at one point have 5 finished risotto spoons in his hand.

One of the most memorable aspects of our wedding was the opportunity to interact with the goats during our photo session, thanks to Deb who brought out goat food to attract them over. This unique and personal touch made our day even more special and provided us with cherished memories and wonderful photos.

Branxholm Park is an exceptional wedding venue that combines breathtaking beauty with outstanding service. All of the staff played crucial roles in making our wedding day perfect, and we are incredibly grateful for their dedication and hard work. We highly recommend Branxholm Park to anyone seeking a magical and unforgettable wedding experience. The intimate venue was beautiful, had a very relaxed vibe, and served great food and extremely tasty cakes! Thank you to all at Branxholm Park for making our dream wedding a reality.

Magical day from start to finish ✨

Two weeks ago we got married at this stunning venue! 😍
From start to finish they couldn't do enough for us.
All of our guests described the day as
‘Magical’ 🥹 and honestly it really did feel like that!
David, thank you from the Friday we arrived you were very good with us all and made sure we had everything and nothing was a problem to them!
Your staff are so lovely too, especially the lady who was doing the room cleans. Sorry i have forgot her name but she was so good with the children too.

I would 100% recommend getting a reception drinks singer and a dj for the evening!

Overall from start to finish the price / package was just perfect so thank you so so much xxi

A beyond perfect wedding venue

Just arrived home after our wedding here at Branxholm Park. The venue was absolutely perfect, everything had been thought of. Everywhere you looked you’d find a stunning little area that made the place feel so whimsical. The wedding package is great and made everything feel so stress free. The staff were brilliant, so helpful and just fit into the day to make sure everything ticked along nicely. Hats off to the chef, the food was out of this world!!

Our perfect wedding venue

My new husband and I had our wedding at Branxholm Park House on 27th April 2024 and we can honestly say it was just the best weekend from start to finish.
The venue is homely but quirky, with its warm relaxing lounge room, its gorgeous dark blue informal dining area, fantastic bar room with light up dance floor, karaoke room and gorgeous Chapel and outdoor spaces too. The food was great from burger night, to canapés a plenty to our delicious wedding meal, the staff were fab too, friendly and helpful with any request. David, the owner, also did a brilliant job of co-ordinating it all and ensuring everything ran on time and keeping everyone happy and relaxed.
We had the best time partying the night away with all our friends and family, glow sticks, photo props, and music exactly how we wanted it. I even put my bridal pjs on at 10.30pm to continue dancing the night away.
I’m gutted the weekend is over as we enjoyed ourselves so much, we honestly couldn’t have wished for better and I am so, so glad we chose here as our venue.

Second time around

As this was the second wedding for both of us, we wanted a venue and a day which was intimate and memorable for those who were closest and mattered most! Choosing this venue, we were in excellent hands and could leave every detail to our hosts Debbie & David which really took away all the stressful build up of wedding preparation and left us to enjoy our day in this stunning venue with a real, informal family feel to the occasion rather than a hotel atmosphere. The food was first rate and each and every guest was impressed with the standard of accommodation.

Magical Winter Wedding

My husband and I got married at Branxholm on 19.12.16.
Myself and my bridesmaids arrived and were greeted with champagne and led to the most amazing bridal suite where we got ready.
My guests were greeted with canopes and fizz.
Our ceremony was flawless and intimate. Absolutely amazing. We left the wedding 'hut' and were given warm mulled wine by the fire.
Our guests were looked after whilst we wandered into the scenery for our photographs! I challenge you to find a more beautiful back drop.....
We poured our prosecco tower in front of all our guests, just another small but amazing detail.
The bell was rang for dinner and we walked in to the most beautiful dining room! Speeches were made and we ate. The food was faultless absolutely perfect! Whilst we ate, the children enjoyed pizza and popcorn in the cinema room upstairs, under the watchful eye of a professional nanny.
Whilst we cut our cake in the main part of the house, our wedding room was converted into a dance floor for our first dance.

Every part of our special day was catered for. Debbie and David were fantastic. The attention to detail was fantastic. I could not recommend this place enough!!!!!!!!!!!!
