Castello di Sorgnano dates back to the 10th century and has been lovingly restored, retaining its historic charm. It has an internal courtyard and charming halls, which offer breathtaking views of the valley. The halls are available for couples to use and can receive up to 80 people. Larger gatherings can be held in the courtyard and outdoor spaces, allowing you and your loved ones to soak up the charm of the Italian countryside.
Within the Forte Sorgnano Estate, in addition to the castle, there is a delightful farmhouse where you will be able to stay. The Piccolo borgo, below the Castle, provides its 11 apartments and 3 rooms, accommodating up to 55 people. History
The castle was first mentioned in the Liber Censum of the Apostolic See, compiled in the 1320s and now preserved in the Vatican Secret Archives. Throughout its history, the castle was a Guelph garrison and used to contain the Ghibelline Assisi. Its fate would later see it pass into the hands of Umbrian mayor families from the 14th to the early 20th century.
