Lisanne and I have just returned to the Netherlands from our magical wedding at Borthwick Castle. Jamie and Amy done such a wonderful job, we couldn't have wished for a better day. The guests loved the castle and rooms just as much as we did, the food was absolutely delicious and the piper was excellent and I'm sure Borthwick will be receiving a lot more guests from The Netherlands in the near future. This place, the history, and the people of Duns Castle exceeded my expectations. The beauty of this castle took my breath away when I first saw it. My daughter recently was married here. For us, it was a destination wedding that was made perfect. The hospitality of the Hay family is absolutely the best. If you are close by or traveling from the other side of the world to hold a wedding, like my family, this place needs to be on the top of your list. This was our family's unforgettable heavenly experience.

Had the most perfect wedding reception here for our daughter's wedding in December 2014. From our first visit to the castle, to the wedding day(and all the visits in between) we were made so welcome and the personal service of the wedding planner, Hanna, was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing. It's such a beautiful venue and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Everything was absolutely perfect from the minute we arrived on the Thursday night to the minute we left on Saturday. You couldn't have made our day any more special, all our guests thought the meal was fantastic and very tasty so please give our compliments to the chef!

THIRLSTANE CASTLE IS TRUELY THE FAIRYTALE CASTLE OF SCOTLAND! AWESOME IN EVERY WAY! A WOMANS DREAM COME TRUE! IT'S PERFECT IN EVERY WAY! AS THEY SAY ABOUT AMERICA, GOD HAS SHED HIS GRACE ON THEE! I CAN SAY THE SAME THING ABOUT THIRLSTANE CASTLE, GOD HAS SHED HIS GRACE ON THEE!

We felt so lucky to have found this location. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We had the run of the castle for the entire weekend which my American relatives absolutely loved! The kids thought that they were in a Harry Potter movie. The recommendations they gave us for florist and chef where awesome! We had the BBC master chef and the food was out of this world! My flowers were exactly what I wanted! This place is extra special because it hasn't been converted to a hotel. It is still a home with original furniture and four poster beds. We can not recommend this place enough, we would love to go back.
